[३९ उसी का प्रस्तुत सूत्र में वर्णन दिया गया है। ___'नेमित्तिएणं' शब्द का अर्थ होता है नैमित्तिक। भविष्य की बात बताने वाले ज्योतिषी को नैमित्तिक कहा जाता है।
"णिंदू' - शब्द का अर्थ है - मृत-प्रसविनी। जिसके बच्चे मृत पैदा हों, उसे निन्दू कहते हैं । मृत बालक दो तरह के होते हैं - एक तो गर्भ में ही मरे हुए पैदा होने वाले, दूसरे पैदा होने के बाद मर जाने वाले। प्रस्तुत प्रकरण में निन्दू से प्रथम अर्थ का ग्रहण ही अभीष्ट प्रतीत होता है।
हरिणैगमेषी - शब्द का अर्थ करते हुए कल्पसूत्र (प्रदीपिका टीका के गर्भ परिवर्तन-प्रकरण) में लिखा है -'हरेः इन्द्रस्य नैगमम् आदेशमिच्छतीति हरिनैगमेषी, केचित् हरेरिन्द्रस्य संबंधी नैगमेषी, नाम देव इति' - अर्थात् हरिनैगमेषी शब्द के दो अर्थ हैं - १. हरि-इन्द्र के नैगम - आदेश की इच्छा करने वाला देव तथा २. हरि-इन्द्र का नैगमेषी अर्थात् संबंधी एक देव। हरिनैगमेषी सौधर्म देवलोक के स्वामी महाराजा शक्रेन्द्र का सेनापति देव है। इन्द्र की आज्ञा मिलने पर भगवान् महावीर के गर्भ का परिवर्तन इसी देव ने किया था।
'उल्ल-पड-साडया' का अर्थ है - जिसने आर्द्र (भीगा हुआ) पट और शाटिका धारण कर रखी है। पट ऊपर ओढने के वस्त्र का नाम है । शाटिका शब्द से नीचे पहनने की धोती या साड़ी का बोध होता
'आहारेइ वा, नीहारेइ वा, वरइ वा' का अर्थ है - आहार करती थी - भोजन खाती थी। निहारेइ अर्थात् शौचादि क्रियाओं से निवृत्त होती थी। वरइ-शब्द वृ धातु से बनता है जिसका अर्थ है - विचार करना, चुनना, सगाई करना, याचना करना, आच्छादन करना, सेवा करना। प्रस्तुत में वृ धातु विचार करने के अर्थ में प्रयुक्त हुई प्रतीत होती है । तब 'वरइ' का अर्थ होगा विचार करती थी, अन्य कार्यों के सम्बन्ध में चिन्तन करती थी।
"भत्ति= बहुमाण-सुस्सूसाए" का अर्थ है - भक्ति-बहुमान तथा शुश्रूषा के द्वारा। भक्ति शब्द अनुराग, बहुमान शब्द अत्यधिक सत्कार तथा शुश्रूषा शब्द सेवा का परिचायक है। इन पदों द्वारा सूत्रकार ने हरिणैगमेषी देव को आराधित - सिद्ध या प्रसन्न करने के तीन साधनों का निर्देश किया है । देव को सिद्ध करने के लिये उक्त तीन बातों की अपेक्षा हुआ करती है। देव को सिद्ध करने के लिये सर्वप्रथम साधक के हृदय में देव के प्रति अनुराग होना चाहिए, तदनन्तर साधक के हृदय में देव के लिये अत्यधिक सत्कारसम्मान की भावना होनी चाहिये। देव को सिद्ध करने के लिये तीसरा साधन देव की सेवा है।
सुलसा ने हरिणैगमेषी देव की आराधना की, उसकी पूजा की, परिणाम स्वरूप उसने अपना अभीष्ट कार्य सिद्ध कर लिया। इससे भलीभांति सिद्ध हो जाता है कि देवता के प्रति की जाने वाली आराधना साधक की कामना पूर्ण करने में सहायक बन सकती है। देव अपने भक्त की रक्षा करने तथा उस पर अनुग्रह करने में सशक्त होता है।
लोग पुत्रादि को उपलब्ध करने के लिये देव-पूजन करते हैं और पूर्वोपार्जित किसी पुण्य कर्म के सहयोगी होने के कारण पुत्रादि की प्राप्ति कर लेने पर भक्ति के अतिरेक से उसे देव-प्रदत्त ही मान लेते हैं। पुत्रादि की प्राप्ति में देव को ही प्रधान कारण मान लेते हैं । वे भूल करते हैं, क्योंकि यदि पूर्वोपार्जित कर्म के फल को प्रकट करने में देव निमित्त कारण बन सकता है तो इसके विपरीत, यदि पूर्व कर्म सहयोगी नहीं
