[उपासकदशांगसूत्र
अष्टांगहृदय में वारूणी का पर्याय प्रसन्ना लिखा है। तदनुसार सुरा का ऊपरी भाग प्रसन्न है। उसके नीचे का गाढ़ा भाग जगल कहा जाता है। जगल के नीचे का भाग मेदक कहा जाता है। नीचे बचे कल्क को निचोड़ने से निकला द्रव बक्कस कहा जाता है।
२४१. तए णं रायगिहे नयरे अन्नया कयाइ घुढे यावि होत्था। एक बार राजगृह नगर में अमारि-प्राणि-वध न करने को घोषणा हुई।
