१८९. तए णं कल्लं जाव' जलंते समणे भगवं महावीरे जाव' समोसरिए। परिसा निग्गया जाव पज्जुवासइ।
तत्पश्चात् अगले दिन प्रात:काल भगवान् महावीर पधारे। परिषद् जुड़ी, भगवान् की पर्यु पासना की।
१९०. तए णं से सद्दालपुत्ते आजीविओवासए इमीसे कहाए लद्धढे समाणे-एवं खलु समंणे भगवं महावीरे जाव (जेणेव पोलासपुरे नयरे, जेणेव सहस्संबवणे उजाणे, तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छिता अहापडिरूवं ओग्गहं ओगिण्हित्ता संजमेणं तवसा अप्पाणं भावेमाणे ) विहरइ, तं गच्छामि णं समणं भगवं महावीरं वंदामि जाव (नमंसामि, सक्कारेमि, सम्माणेमि कल्याणं, मंगलं, देवयं, चेइयं) पन्जुवासामि एवं संपेहेइ, संपेहित्ता ण्हाए जाव (कयवलिकम्मे , कयकोउयमंगल-) पायच्छित्ते सुद्ध-प्पावेसाइं जाव (मंगल्लाइं वत्थाई पवरपरिहिए) अप्पमहग्धाभरणालंकिय-सरीरे, मणुस्सवग्गुरा-परिगए साओ गिहाओ पडिणिक्खमइ, पडिणिक्खमित्ता, पोलासपुरं नयरं मझंमणं निग्गच्छइ, निग्गच्छित्ता जेणेव सहस्संबवणे उजाणे, जेणेव समणे भगवं महावीरे , तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता तिक्खुत्तो आयाहिणं पयाहिणं करेइ, करेत्ता वंदइ, नमसइ, वंदित्ता नमंसित्ता जाव (णच्चासण्णे णाइदूरे सुस्सूसमाणे णमंसमाण अभिमुहे विणएणं पंजलिउडे ) पज्जुवासइ।
आजीविकोपासक सकडालपुत्र ने यह सुना कि भगवान् महावीर पोलासपुर नगर में पधारे हैं। (सहस्त्राम्रवन उद्यान में यथोचित स्थान ग्रहण कर संयम एवं तप में आत्मा को भावित करते हुएअवस्थित हैं)। उसने सोचा-मैं जाकर भगवान् की वन्दना, (नमस्कार, सत्कार एवं सम्मान करूं । वे कल्याणमय, मंगलमय, देवस्वरूप तथा ज्ञानस्वरूप हैं।) पर्युपासना करूं। यों सोच कर उसने स्नान किया, (नित्य-नैमित्तिक कार्य किए, देह-सज्जा तथा दु:स्वप्न आदि दोष-निवारण हेतु चन्दन, कुंकुम, दधि, अक्षत आदि द्वारा मंगल-विधान किया,) शुद्ध, सभायोग्य (मांगलिक एवं उत्तम) वस्त्र पहने । थोड़े से बहुमूल्य आभूषणों से देह को अलंकृत किया, अनेक लोगों को साथ लिए वह अपने घर से आया। आकर तीन बार आदक्षिणा-प्रदक्षिणा की, वन्दन-नमस्कार किया, (वन्दन-नमस्कार कर भगवान् के न अधिक निकट, न अधिक दूर, सम्मुख अवस्थित हो, नमन करते हुए, सुनने की उत्कठां लिए विनयपूर्वक हाथ जोड़,) पर्युपासना की।
