१५५. तए णं धन्ना भारिया कोलाहलं सोच्चा, निसम्म, जेणेव सुरादेवे समणोवासए, तेणेव उवागच्छइ। उवागच्छित्ता एवं वयासी-किण्णं देवाणुप्पिया! तुब्भेहिं महया महया सद्देणं कोलाहले कए?
सुरादेव की पत्नी धन्या ने जब यह कोलाहल सुना तो जहाँ सुरादेव था, वह वहाँ आई। आकर पति से बोली-देवानुप्रिय! आप जोर-जोर से क्यों चिल्लाए? जीवन का उपसंहार
१५६. तए णं से सुरादेवे समणोवासए धन्नं भारियं एवं वयासी-एवं खलु देवाणुप्पिए! के वि पुरिसे, तहेव कहेइ जहा चुलणीपिया। धन्ना वि पडिभणइ, जाव कणीयसं। नो खलु देवाणुप्पिया! तुब्भं के वि पुरिसे सरीरंसि जमग-समगं सोलस रोगायंके पक्खिवइ, एस णं के वि पुरिसे तुब्भं उवसग्गं करेइ। सेसं जहा चुलणीपियस्स तहा भणइ।
___ एवं सेसं जहा चुलणीपियस्स निरवसेसं जाव' सोहम्मे कप्पे अरूणकंते विमाणे उववन्ने। चत्तारि पलिओवमाइं ठिई। महाविदेहे वासे सिज्झिहिइ।
निक्खेवो ॥ सत्तमस्स अंगस्स उवासगदसाणां चउत्थं अज्झयणं समत्तं ॥
श्रमणोपासक सुरादेव ने अपने पत्नी धन्या से सारी घटना उसी प्रकार कही, जैसे चुलनीपिता ने कही थी। धन्या बोली--देवानुप्रिय! किसी ने तुम्हारे बड़े, मंझले और छोटे लड़के को नहीं मारा। न कोई पुरूष तुम्हारे शरीर में एक ही साथ सोलह भयानक रोग ही उत्पन्न कर रहा है । यह तो तुम्हारे लिए किसी ने उपसर्ग किया है। उसने और सब वैसा ही कहा, जैसा चुलनीपिता को कहा गया था।
आगे की सारी घटना चुलनीपिता की ही तरह है। अन्त में सुरादेव देह-त्याग कर सोधर्म
