[उपासकदशांगसूत्र आया था, उसी दिशा की ओर लौट गया।
१२०. तए णं समणे भगवं महावीरे अन्नया कयाइ चम्पाओ पडिणिक्खमइ, पडिणिक्खमित्ता बहिया जणवय-विहारं विहरइ।
श्रमण भगवान् महावीर ने एक दिन चम्पा से प्रस्थान किया। प्रस्थान कर वे अन्य जनपदों में विहार कर गए। कामदेव : स्वर्गारोहण
१२१. तए णं कामदेवे समणोवासए पढम उवासग-पडिमं उवसंपजित्ताणं विहरइ। तत्पश्चात् श्रमणोपासक कामदेव ने पहली उपासकप्रतिमा की आराधना स्वीकार की।
१२२. तए णं से कामदेवे समणोवासए बहूहिं जाव (सील-व्वय-गुण-वेरमणपच्चक्खाण-पोसहोववासेहिं अप्पाणं) भावेत्ता वीसं वासाइं समणोवासगपरियागं पाउणित्ता, एक्कारस उवासग-पडिमाओ सम्म कारणं फासेत्ता, मासियाए संलेहणाए अप्पाणं झूसित्ता, सर्द्धि भत्ताइं अणसणाए छेदेत्ता, आलोइयपडिक्कंते, समाहिपत्ते, कालमासे कालं किच्चा, सोहम्मे कप्पे सोहम्मवडिंसयस्स महाविमाणस्स उत्तरपुरस्थिमेणं अरूणाभे विमाणे देवत्ताए उववन्ने। तत्थ णं अत्थेगइयाणं देवाणं चत्तारि पलिओवमाइं ठिई पण्णत्ता। कामदेवस्स वि देवस्स चत्तारि पलिओवमाइं ठिई पण्णत्ता।
__ श्रमणोपासक कामदेव ने अणुव्रत (गुणव्रत, विरमण, प्रत्याख्यान तथा पोषधोपवास) द्वारा आत्मा को भावित किया-आत्मा का परिष्कार और परिमार्जन किया। बीस वर्ष तक श्रमणोपासक पर्याय-श्रावकधर्म का पालन किया। ग्यारह उपासक-प्रतिमाओं का भली-भाँति अनुसरण किया। एक मास की संलेखना और साठ भोजन-एक मास का अनशन सम्पन्न कर आलोचना, प्रतिक्रमण कर मरण-काल आने पर समाधिपूर्वक देह-त्याग किया। देह-त्याग कर वह सौधर्म देवलोक में सौधर्मावतंसक महाविमान के ईशान-कोण में स्थित अरूणाभ विमान में देवरूप में उत्पन्न हुआ वहां अनेक देवों की आयु चार पल्योपम की होती है। कामदेव की आयु भी देवरूप में चार पल्योपम की बतलाई गई है।
१२३. से णं भंते! कामदेवे ताओ देव-लोगाओ आउ-क्खएणं भव-क्खएणं ठिइक्खएणं अणंतरं चयं चइत्ता, कहिं गमिहिइ, कहिं उववजिहिइ? गोयमा! महाविदेहे वासे सिज्झिहिइ।
निक्खेवो ॥सत्तमस्स अंगस्स उवासगदसाणं बीयं अज्झयणं समत्तं ॥
१. एवं खलु जम्बू! समणेण जाव सम्पत्तेणं दोच्चस्स अज्झयणस्स अयमढे पण्णत्तेत्ति बेमि।
