14. f o467, a sentence in which the verb is not expressed, e. g. in शम्भु सदानन्दं मनसा [ध्यायामि ] नवैः कुसुमैः [अर्चयामि] the verbs ध्यायामि and अर्चयामि or their equivalents are not expressed. As a verb is the most important part of a sentence, naturally the omission of the verb is looked upon as a defect. A

15. As the verb off or an is to be understood in this stz. our author picks the fault fight in it. But it may be remarked that many verses would be found to contain this fault, if the omission of safer is a fault at all. For, the maxim अस्तिर्भवन्तीपरः अप्रयुज्यमानोप्यस्ति allows the omission of अस्ति, and it would be over-fastidiousness to insist on the actual expression of 3FT in a sentence. It would be a real UKT ang if any other verb, the omission of which makes the sentence unintelligible is not expressed as in 377) CAF etc.
Jabatayaqace, JETT STÅ Fynd. Nandargikar's edn. of 1897, reads उद्धकेशश्युतपत्रलेखः, and फलपत्रवेष्ट: for फलजातशोभः. In view of the reading STORIA: of some MSS., noticed by Nandargikar, here also we might read Freita: to improve the sense (h1905%, an ornament of pearls--- MW).
___ 15, 1. 1. महर्तचिन्तामणि was written by रामभट्ट or देवशरामाचार्य at Benares in 1600 A. D. It is published as Vol. 10 in the Harik?sna-nibandhamani-mālā, Benares, 1923.

17. This is one of the stzs. describing the Himālayas to which Arjuna had gone for practising penance. Firát, a female osprey. , water.
TETT, quai (trees) 21901 Trg AT: 71 =yt, a fragrant root. Roya:, rivers. Here भवन्ति is to be understood, hence the fault क्रियाभ्रष्ट. अनलदाः-अनलं सन्तापं द्यन्ति खण्डयन्ति शमयन्ति इति अनलदाः।
18. This is the celebrated stanza from the lo27712T, in which IHC enumerates the several purposes for which poets write poetry. Herein our author notices the final452T as Hafa or gria is to be supplied. It is noteworthy that according to our author this stanza contains two more flaws viz. the feet and the f ata for which see stzs. 35 and 93 below!
