________________ प्राकृत-सूक्तरत्नमाला । Oue's mother, father, sons, kinsmen can secure for him all kinds of good but can never do the least good to a dying person (lit: to the extent of a til or husk ). ५२ धीरेणवि मरियव्वं कार्यारिएणावि अवस्समरियव्वं । दुपि हु मरियव्वे वरं धीरतेण मरियव्वं ॥ १०६ ॥ धीरेणापि मर्तव्यं कातरेणाप्यवश्य मर्तव्यम् । द्वयोरपि खलु मर्तव्ये वरं धीरत्वेन मर्तव्यम् ॥ १०६ ॥ The courageous as well as the timid must surely die as both are mortal,-it is better to die as a courageous man. अज' परं परारिं पुरिसा चिंतंति अत्थ-संपत्तिं । अंजलि-गयंव तोअं गलंतमाउं न पेच्छति ॥ ११० ॥ अद्य परुतू परारि पुरुषाश्चिन्तयन्त्यर्थसंपत्तिम् । अञ्जलिगतमिव तोयं गलदायुर्न पश्यन्ति ॥ ११० ॥ A person thinks of his wealth and property to day, to-morrow and day after; but does not see years ( lit : duration of life) trickling down like water contained in the palms of the hand.
