Siddartha and Trishala respectively. He was born and brought up with a silver spoon. He was the member of a royal family His father was a king. When Lord Mahavira was conceived his mother had fourteen great dreams. She awoke and asked her husband what might be the meaning of these dreams. He invited a Prophet to interpret the dreams. He calculated that a great soul would take birth and that soul would reach the perfection of self-realisation and would be the torch bearer of the whole world. It was Predicted that he would be the harbinger of peace and bestower of the hiappiness.
He bore three names. His parents called him “Vardhmana' which means, from the date he was conceived by Trishala, the wealth, power and prosperity of the kingdom were steadily improving. Secondly because he had subdued his external as well as internal foes he was called “Mahavira'. He was also called 'Sanmati? which means that even in Lord Mahavira's childhood. He possessed an extra ordinary personality. He never wept nor laughed. He always remained in a contented mood. He was quite active like all growing children, but never restless. Even as a sinall child, he appeared to be unattached to all things, that is, he did not seem to have any physical attraction towards worldly things and instead it appeared as if he was meditating.
Success in life depends on two factors-Wisdom and energy. A harmonious combination of these two things makes man fearless and strong. Vardhamana possessed both in equal proportion. He was never touched by any kind of fear.
Once he was playing with his friends a game called 'Amalaki', in which children race to climb a tree. Vardhmana had tramendous power so outran everyone and climbed up the tree first. When he was coming down, he sawa huge snake around the trunk of the tree. It hissed at the sight of Vardhmana. Struck with fear, the rest of the children ran away but Vardhamana remained unperturbed. He caught hold of the snake and threw it away. He climbed down from the tree and his playmates applauded him. He had won the game.
Knowledge is a part of the spititual energy of man. Vardhamana had both spiritual energy and knowledge in him. His relatives knew that he was physically strong but did not know that he had tremen
