१८-जल्ल (मल)-परीषह
किलिन्नगाए मेहावी, पंकेण व रएण वा । धिंसु वा परितावेण, सायं नो परिदेवए ॥३६॥ वेएज्ज निज्जरा-पेही, आरियं धम्मऽणुत्तरं ।
जाव सरीरभेउ त्ति, जल्लं काएण धारए ॥३७॥ ग्रीष्म ऋतु में पसीने से गीले शरीर पर धूलि कण तथा मैल जम जाते हैं ऐसी स्थिति में भी मेधावी श्रमण साता-सुख के लिए विलाप न करे, व्याकुल न हो ॥३६॥ ___ कर्म क्षय का इच्छुक मुनि मल जनित परीषह को सहन करे। इस श्रेष्ठ अनुत्तर धर्म को पाकर तत्त्वज्ञ मुनि जब तक शरीर न छूटे तब तक इस मैल को धारण करे। उसके प्रति जुगुप्सा न लाये, समभाव से सहन करे ॥३७॥ 18. Dirt Trouble
In summer season his body become wet due to sweat and wet body is covered with dirt and dust; but the wise sage does not lament for his loss of comfort and relief. (36)
Having the aim of karma-destruction, the monk should bear this dirt trouble. Obtaining this excellent religion (law) he should carry the fifth on his body till death. He should not hate it (the fifth) and bear with undisturbed mind. (37) १९-सत्कार-पुरस्कार-परीषह
अभिवायणमब्भुट्ठाणं, सामी कुज्जा निमन्तणं । जे ताई पडिसेवन्ति, न तेसिं पीहए मुणी ॥३८॥
अणुक्कसाई अप्पिच्छे, अन्नाएसी अलोलुए ।
रसेसु नाणुगिज्झेज्जा, नाणुतप्पेज्ज पन्नवं ॥३९॥ राजा, शासक, नेता आदि जो अभिवादन, निमंत्रण, सम्मान आदि करते हैं तथा अन्य तीर्थिक साधु उन्हें स्वीकार करते हैं। लेकिन आत्मार्थी श्रमण ऐसे सत्कार की मन से भी इच्छा न करे ॥३८॥
मंदकषायी, अल्प इच्छा वाला और अज्ञात कुलों से भिक्षा ग्रहण करने वाला, रसादि में लोलुपता न रखने वाला बुद्धिमान श्रमण स्वादु रसों में आसक्ति न करे और (अन्यतीर्थिकों को सत्कार पाते देखकर) मन में किंचित् भी अनुताप न करे ॥३९॥ 19. Good and Respectful Treatment Trouble
The kings, rulers, leaders, powerful men salute, invite and honour the hermitages-the followers of other creeds and they accept with cordial delight. But the self-indulgent sage should not have a desire of such salutation or honour, even by the mind. (38)
The sage, with few needs, less passions, getting alms from unknown houses, having no dainties, should not inflict to taste. He should not regret when he visualise that the hermitages--the followers of other creeds are receiving such respects. (39)
