(उत्तर) चारित्र संपन्नता से जीव शैलेशी भाव (मेरु के समान सर्वथा निष्कम्प दशा) को प्राप्त करता है। शैलेशी दशा को प्राप्त अनगार केवली में रहने वाले चार अघाती कर्माशों का क्षय कर देता है। तदनन्तर वह सिद्ध होता है, बुद्ध होता है, मुक्त होता है, परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त होता है और सर्वदुःखों का अन्त कर देता है।
Maxim 62. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul attain by accomplishment of conduct ?
(A). By conduct-accomplishment, the soul attains the state of non-quivering stability like mountain Meru (Sailesi Bhava). Thereby the houseless monk destructs the four remnants of non-vitiating karmas lingering to kevalin. After that he obtains perfection, enlightenment, deliverance and final beatitude, and ends all miseries.
सूत्र ६३-सोइन्दियनिग्गहेणं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
सोइन्दियनिग्गहेणं मणुनामणुनेसु सद्देसु रागदोसनिग्गहं जणयइ, तप्पच्चइयं कम्मं न बन्धइ, पुवबद्धं च निज्जरेइ ॥
सूत्र ६३-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! श्रोत्रेन्द्रिय निग्रह से जीव को क्या प्राप्त होता है?
(उत्तर) श्रोत्रेन्द्रिय के निग्रह से जीव मनोज्ञ (कर्णप्रिय) अमनोज्ञ (कर्ण कटु) शब्दों पर राग-द्वेष का निग्रह कर लेता है। फिर वह तन्निमित्तक-शब्दों से होने वाले कर्मों का बन्ध नहीं करता अपितु पूर्वबद्ध कर्मों की निर्जरा करता है।
Maxim 63. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul get subduing the sense of hearing (ears)?
(A). By subduing the sense of hearing, the soul controls the attachment and aversion to pleasant and non-pleasant voices. Then he checks the bondages of karmas which occur by these and annihilates formerly accumulated karmas.
सूत्र ६४-चक्खिन्दियनिग्गहेणं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
चक्खिन्दिय निग्गहेणं मणुनामणुन्नेसु रूवेसु रागदोसनिग्गहं जणयइ, तप्पच्चइयं कम्मं न बन्धइ, पुव्वबद्धं च निज्जरेइ ॥
सूत्र ६४-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! चक्षु इन्द्रिय के निग्रह से जीव क्या प्राप्त करता है?
(उत्तर) चक्षु इन्द्रिह के निग्रह (निरोध) से जीव के मनोज्ञ और अमनोज्ञ (सुन्दर और असुन्दर) रूपों के प्रति होने वाले राग-द्वेष का निग्रह हो जाता है। और वह तन्निमित्तक कर्म-रूपों से होने वाले कर्मों का बन्ध नहीं करता अपितु पूर्वबद्ध कर्मों की निर्जरा करता है। ___Maxim 64. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul acquire by subduing the sense of sight (eyes)?
(A). By subduing the sense of sight, the soul checks up the attachment and detachment to pleasant and unpleasant sights and shapes and does not bind the karmas generated by those sights and annihilates the formerly bound karmas by these.
