Maxim 40. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul obtain by renouncing the assistant and assistance ?
(A). By renouncing the assistant and assistance, the soul acquires feelings of one-ness. Thereby reflecting oneness he speaks a little, avoids disputes, quarrels, passions and censoriousness, and then he becomes abundant with stoppage of karmas, restraint and deep in contemplation
सूत्र ४१-भतपच्चखाणेणं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ? भत्तपच्चक्खाणेणं अणेगाई भवसयाई निरुम्भइ । सूत्र ४१-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! भक्त-प्रत्याख्यान से जीव को क्या प्राप्त होता है?
(उत्तर) भक्त प्रत्याख्यान (भक्त परिज्ञा रूप आमरण अनशन-संथारा) से जीव अनेकों भवों को रोक देता है।
Maxim 41. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul attain by renouncing all kinds of food ?
(A). By renouncing all kinds of food (giving up all kinds of food till death-the practice of santhārā at the end of life) obstructs his innumerable births.
सूत्र ४२-सब्भावपच्चक्खाणेणं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
सब्भावपच्चक्खाणेणं अनियट्टि जणयइ । अनियट्टिपडिवन्ने य अणगारे चत्तारि केवलिकम्मसे खवेइ । तं जहा-वेयणिज्ज, आउयं, नाम, गोयं। तओ पच्छा सिज्झइ, बुज्झइ, मुच्चइ, परिनिव्वाएइ, सव्वदुक्खाणमन्तं करेइ ॥ ___ सूत्र ४२-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! सद्भाव (सर्व संवररूप शैलेशी भाव) प्रत्याख्यान से जीव को क्या प्राप्त होता
(उत्तर) सद्भाव प्रत्याख्यान से जीव अनिवृत्ति (शुक्लध्यान का चतुर्थ-अन्तिम भेद) को प्राप्त करता है। अनिवृत्ति-प्रतिपन्न अनगार केवली कर्मांश (कवली के शेष रहे हुए) वेदनीय, आयु, नाम, गोत्र कर्मों के अंशों (इन भवोपग्राही कर्मों) का क्षय करता है। तत्पश्चात वह सिद्ध होता है, बुद्ध होता है, मुक्त होता है, परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त होता है और सभी दुःखों का अन्त करता है।
Maxim 42. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul obtain by perfect renunciation ?
(A). By perfect renunciation the soul attains anivștti (the fourth stage of whitest meditation-sukladhyāna). Thereby he exhaustively destroys the remnants of karmas lingering to kevalin, the karmas pertaining to life-duration, emotion evoking, form determining, family or lineage determining. Then he becomes emancipated, enlightened, liberated, finally deliverated and puts an end to all miseries.
सूत्र ४३-पडिरूवयाए णं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
पडिरूवयाए णं लाघवियं जणयइ । लहुभूए णं जीवे अप्पमत्ते, पागडलिंगे, पसत्थलिंगे, विसुद्धसम्मत्ते, सत्तसमिइसमत्ते, सव्वपाणभूयजीवसत्तेसु वीससणिज्जरूवे, अप्पडिलेहे, जिइन्दिए, विउलतवसमिइसमन्नागए यावि भवइ ॥
सूत्र ४३-(प्रश्न) भगवन् ! प्रतिरूपता (जिनकल्प जैसे आचार-पालन) से जीव को क्या प्राप्त होता है?
