(उत्तर) क्षमापना से जीव को प्रह्लाद भाव ( चित्त की प्रसन्नता) प्राप्त होता है। प्रह्लाद भाव को प्राप्त जीव सर्व प्राण, भूत, जीव और सत्त्वों के प्रति मैत्रीभाव उत्पन्न करता है । मैत्रीभाव को प्राप्त जीव (अपने) भावों की विशुद्धि करके निर्भय हो जाता है।
Maxim 18. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul obtain by forgiveness ?
(A). By forgiveness, the soul begets the happiness of head and heart, By this happiness he produces feelings of friendship towards all the living beings of world. By feelings of friendship he purifies his thoughts and becomes free from fear.
सूत्र १९ - सज्झाएणं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
सज्झाएणं नाणावरणिज्जं कम्मं खवेइ ॥
सूत्र १९ - ( प्रश्न) भगवन् ! स्वाध्याय से जीव को क्या (लाभ) प्राप्त होता है ?
(उत्तर) स्वाध्याय से जीव ज्ञानावरणीय कर्म का क्षय करता है।
Maxim 19. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul obtain by study of holy scriptures ?
(A). By study soul destructs the knowledge obscuring karma.
सूत्र २० - वायणाए णं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
वायणाए णं निज्जरं जणयइ । सुयस्स य अणासायणाए वट्टए । सुयस्स अणासायणाए वट्टमाणे तित्थधम्मं अवलम्बइ । तित्थधम्मं अवलम्बमाणे महानिज्जरे महापज्जवसाणे भवइ ॥
सूत्र २० - ( प्रश्न) भगवन् ! वाचना से जीव क्या प्राप्त करता है ?
(उत्तर) वाचना से जीव कर्मों की निर्जरा करता है। श्रुत के अनुवर्तन ( सतत पठन-पाठन ) से (श्रुत की) अनाशातना में प्रवर्तमान जीव तीर्थधर्म का अवलंबन (आश्रय ) लेता है। तीर्थधर्म का अवलंबन लेता हुआ साधक कर्मों की महानिर्जरा और महापर्यवसान (कर्मों का सर्वथा अन्त करने वाला) होता है।
Maxim 20. (Q). Bhagawan ! What does the soul obtain by teaching of sacred _scriptures ?
(A). By teaching the sacred scriptures soul annihilates the karmas. By ever reading and make to read others, defiles not the scriptural knowledge. He takes the support of esteemed religion. By taking support of tirthamkara's religion he thoroughly annihilates and completely destroys karmas.
सूत्र २१ - पडिपुच्छणयाए णं भन्ते ! जीवे किं जणयइ ?
पडिपुच्छणयाए णं सुत्तऽत्थ-तदुभयाइं विसोहेइ । कंखामोहणिज्जं कम्मं वोच्छिन्दइ ॥
सूत्र २१ - ( प्रश्न) भगवन् ! प्रतिप्रच्छना ( पूर्व पठित शास्त्र के विषय में शंका निवारण के लिए प्रश्न करना) से जीव क्या प्राप्त करता है ?
(उत्तर) प्रतिप्रच्छना से जीव सूत्र, अर्थ और तदुभय ( दोनों के तात्पर्य ) को विशुद्ध कर लेता है तथा कांक्षा- मोहनीय कर्म को विच्छिन्न कर देता है।
Maxim 21. (Q). Bhagawan ! What fruit does a soul get by questioning (to remove the doubts in read scriptures) to the teacher ?
