In the same way, the person without practising the religious rituals in this life, goes to next birth he suffers from disease and sickness. (10)
अद्धाणं जो महन्तं तु, सपाहेओ पवज्जई । गच्छन्तो सो सुही होइ, छुहा-तहाविवज्जिओ ॥२१॥ एवं धम्मं पि काऊणं, जो गच्छइ परं भवं ।
गच्छन्तो सो सुही होइ, अप्पकम्मे अवेयणे ॥२२॥ जो व्यक्ति पाथेय (मार्ग का संबल) साथ लेकर लम्बे मार्ग पर प्रयाण करता है वह भूख-प्यास से पीड़ित न होकर सुखी होता है ॥२१॥
इसी प्रकार जो मानव धर्म करके परलोक को प्रयाण करता है वह अल्पकर्मा जीव वेदना से रहित होकर सुखी होता है ॥२२॥
The person who starts on a long journey taking provisions with him, he remains happy and suffers not by hunger and thirst. (21)
In the same way, the person who goes to next birth practising religious rituals in this life, such person being of few karmas, becomes happy and without sufferings. (22)
जहा गेहे पलितम्मि, तस्स गेहस्स जो पहू । सारभण्डाणि नीणेइ, असारं अवउज्झइ ॥२३॥ एवं लोए पलित्तम्मि, जराए मरणेण य ।
अप्पाणं तारइस्सामि, तुब्भेहिं अणुमन्निओ ॥२४॥ जैसे घर में अग्नि का प्रकोप हो जाने-आग लग जाने पर घर का स्वामी पहले मूल्यवान सार वस्तुओं को बाहर निकालता है और निस्सार वस्तुओं को छोड़ देता है ॥२३॥
इसी तरह मैं भी (हे माता, पिता!) आपकी अनुमति पाकर वृद्धत्व और मृत्यु से जलते हुए इस संसार में से सारभूत अपनी आत्मा को निकालना चाहता हूँ ॥२४॥
As when a house is on fire, the owner rescues his valuable goods and leaves behind worthless things. (23)
Likewise the world is in flames of old age and death. I want to save my soul, by your consent. (24)
तं बिंत ऽम्मापियरो, सामण्णं पुत्त ! दुच्चरं ।
गुणाणं तु सहस्साइं, धारेयव्वाइं भिक्खुणो ॥२५॥ (माता-पिता) माता-पिता ने तब मृगापुत्र से कहा-हे पुत्र ! श्रमण धर्म का पालन अति कठिन है। उसमें हजारों गुण-नियमोपनियम भिक्षु को धारण करने पड़ते हैं ॥२५॥
(Parents) Then parents said to Mrgaputra,-0 son ! It is very difficult to practise sageorder. Mendicant has to observe thousands of virtues-rules and regulations. (25)
समया सव्वभूएसु, सत्तु मित्तेसु वा जगे ।
पाणाइवायविरई, जावज्जीवाए दुक्करं ॥२६॥
