Oking ! be sure, that after the death of a man, the other strong healthy person enjoys the earmed amassed wealth and safeguarded wives (women) of the dead man with delights. (16)
तेणावि जं कयं कम्मं, सुहं वा जइ वा दुहं ।
कम्मुणा तेण संजुत्तो, गच्छई उ परं भवं ॥१७॥ उस व्यक्ति ने जो भी दुःखकारक अथवा सुखकारक कर्म किये हैं, उनको साथ लेकर वह परभव में जाता है |॥१७॥
And that deceased man goes to next existence with his good or bad deeds. (17)
सोऊण तस्स सो धम्मं, अणगारस्स अन्तिए ।
महया संवेगनिव्वेयं, समावन्नो नराहिवो ॥१८॥ अनगार से महान धर्म को सुनकर संजय राजा के हृदय में तीव्र संवेग और निर्वेद (वैराग्य) उत्पन्न हुआ ॥१८॥
Hearing the great religion from mendicant, the heart of king Sanjaya filled with intense wish to obtain salvation and disregard to worldly objects. (18)
संजओ चइउं रज्जं, निक्खन्तो जिणसासणे ।
गद्दभालिस्स भगवओ, अणगारस्स अन्तिए ॥१९॥ राज्य को त्यागकर संजय राजा अनगार भगवान गर्दभालि के समीप जिनशासन में दीक्षित हो गया ॥१९॥
King Sanjaya gave up his kingdom and became consecrated in Jain order near the great mendicant Gardabhāli. (19)
चिच्चा रटुं पव्वइए, खत्तिए परिभासइ ।
जहा ते दीसई रूवं, पसन्नं ते तहा मणो ॥२०॥ (क्षत्रिय राजर्षि) राष्ट्र को त्यागकर प्रव्रजित हुए क्षत्रिय मुनि ने एक बार संजय राजर्षि से कहा-तुम बाह्य रूप से जैसे प्रसन्न दिखाई देते हो, उसी प्रकार तुम्हारा मन भी प्रसन्न-विकार रहित है ॥२०॥
(Ksatriya royal sage) Abandoning his nation and turning to a monk, a royal sage kșatriya met the royal sage Sanjaya. During conversation the kșatriya royal sage said to Sanjaya royal sage that 'as you look so happy in outward appearance, so your heart is also happy-fault-free. (20)
किं नामे ? किं गोत्ते ?, कस्सवाए व माहणे ? ।
कह पडियरसी बुद्ध ?, कहं विणीए ति वुच्चसि ? ॥२१॥ आपका नाम क्या है? गोत्र क्या है? किस प्रयोजन से आपने मुनिधर्म स्वीकार किया है? किस प्रकार आचार्यों की परिचर्या करते हो? और कैसे विनीत कहलाते हो? ॥२१॥
What is your name and lineage? With what purpose you accepted consecration ? How do you serve the enlighteneds and how did you called a modest monk. (21)
