सचित्र उत्तराध्ययन सूत्र
बहुं खु मुणिणो भद्दं, अणगारस्स भिक्खुणो । सव्वओ विप्पमुक्कस्स, एगन्तमणुपस्सओ, ॥१६॥
समस्त संयोगों से मुक्त और एकान्तदर्शी - आत्मदर्शी - मैं अकेला ही हूँ, इस प्रकार की भावना वाले अनगार भिक्षु के लिए सुख ही सुख है ॥१६॥
Free from all worldly ties, and who has fixed himself in the virtues of his soul with the feeling that I am alone-such homeless mendicant is the happiest one. (16)
एयमट्ठ निसामित्ता, हेऊकारण- चोइओ | तओ नमिं रायरिसिं, देविन्दो इणमब्बवी - ॥१७॥
नमि राजर्षि के इस उत्तर को सुनकर तथा हेतु कारण से प्रेरित होकर इन्द्र ने नमि राजर्षि से कहा- ॥१७॥ Hearing this reply of royal sage Nami, the ruler of gods inspired with his reasons and arguments spoke thus to him - ( 17 )
य ।
'पागारं कारइत्ताणं, गोपुरट्टालगाणि उस्सूलग-सयग्घीओ, तओ गच्छसि खत्तिया ! ॥१८॥
हे क्षत्रिय ! पहले नगर का परकोटा, द्वार, अट्टालिकाएं, नगर की खाई, तथा शतघ्नी (सौ पुरुषों का एक साथ वध कर सके, ऐसी तोप) का निर्माण कराओ, उसके बाद प्रव्रज्या लेना ॥ १८ ॥
O Kṣatriya (of warrior race)! Erect a boundry wall around the city, main gates of the city, battlements, dig a moat surrounding the boundry wall, construct a sataghni (a cannon by which hundred warriors can be murdered at a time) and then accept the consecration (प्रव्रज्या-दीक्षा). (18)
एयमट्ठ निसामित्ता, हेऊकारण - चोइओ । तओ नमी रायरिसी, देविन्दं इणमब्बवी - ॥१९॥
देवेन्द्र के यह वचन सुनकर तथा हेतु कारण से प्रेरित होकर नमि राजर्षि ने देवेन्द्र से कहा- ॥ १९ ॥ Hearing these words and inspired by his reasons and causes, the royal sage Nami spoke unto the ruler of gods- (19)
'सद्धं नगरं किच्चा, तवसंवरमग्गलं । खन्तिं निउणपागारं तिगुत्तं दुप्पधंसयं ॥२०॥
श्रद्धारूपी नगर, तप-संयम की अर्गला सांकल, क्षमा का परकोटा और तीनों गुप्तियों (मन-वचन-काय गुप्ति) की बुर्ज, खाई और शतघ्नी से सुरक्षित, अजेय बनाकर - ॥२०॥
Constructing city of faith, penance and control its bolts, forgiveness its rampart, tower, moat and cannon of restraints-(mental, vocal and bodily) in this way making secured and unconquerable-(20)
धणु परक्कमं किच्चा, जीवं च ईरियं सया । धिरं च केयणं किच्चा, सच्चेण पलिमन्थए ॥२१॥
