establishment of angelic families in various directions. Their grandeur, 4 prosperity and the like of Yamak deva may be understood in that order.

१०६. [प्र. ] कहि णं भन्ते ! उत्तरकुराए णीलवन्तद्दहे णामं दहे पण्णत्ते ? ॐ [उ.] गोयमा ! जमगाणं दक्खिणिल्लाओ चरिमंताओ अट्ठसए चोत्तीसे चत्तारि अ सत्तभाए
जोअणस्स अबाहाए सीआए महाणईए बहुमज्झदेसभाए एत्थ णं णीलवंतहहे णामं दहे पण्णत्ते। दाहिणउत्तरायए, पाईण-पडीणवित्थिण्णे। जहेव पउमद्दहे तहेव वण्णओ णेअब्बो, णाणत्तं-दोहिं पउमवरवेइआर्हि दोहि य वणसंडेहिं संपरिक्खित्ते, णीलवन्ते णामं णागकुमारे देवे सेसं तं चेव णेअव्वं । ___णीलवन्तद्दहस्स पुव्वावरे पासे दस २ जोअणाई अबाहाए एत्थ णं वीसं कंचणगपव्वया पण्णत्ता, एगं जोयणसयं उद्धं उच्चत्तेणं
मूलंमि जोअणसयं, पण्णत्तरि जोअणाई मज्झमि। उवरितले कंचणगा, पण्णासं जोअणा हुंति॥१॥ मूलंमि तिण्णि सोले, सत्तत्तीसाइं दुणि ममंमि। अट्ठावण्णं च सयं, उवरितले परिरओ होइ॥२॥ पढमित्थ नीलवन्तो १, बितिओ उत्तरकुरु २, मुणेअव्वो।
चंदबहोत्थ तइओ ३, एरावय ४, मालवन्तो अ ५॥३॥ एवं वण्णओ अट्ठो पमाणं पलिओवमट्टिइआ देवा। १०६. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! उत्तरकुरु में नीलवान् नामक द्रह कहाँ पर है ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! यमक पर्वतों के दक्षिणी छोर से ८३४० योजन के अन्तराल पर सीता महानदी के म ठीक बीच में नीलवान् नामक द्रह है। वह दक्षिण-उत्तर लम्बा एवं पूर्व-पश्चिम चौड़ा है। जैसा पद्मद्रह
का वर्णन है, वैसा ही उसका है। केवल इतना अन्तर है-नीलवान् द्रह दो पद्मवरवेदिकाओं द्वारा तथा
दो वनखण्डों द्वारा परिवेष्टित है। वहाँ नीलवान् नामक नागकुमार देव निवास करता है। शेष वर्णन म पूर्वानुरूप है।
