तमिस्र गुफा द्वार का उद्घाटन
एक दिन महाराज भरत ने अपने सेनापति सुषेण को बुलाकर तमिस्र गुफा के दक्षिण द्वार के
कपाट खोलने का आदेश दिया । आज्ञा पाकर सेनापति सुषेण नगर के गणमान्य नागरिकों के साथ तमिस्र गुफा के दक्षिण द्वार पर आया । उसने विधि पूर्वक कपाटों को प्रणाम किया और धूप-दीप जलाकर अक्षत से कपाटों की अर्चना की। फिर चन्दन के लेप से हथेली के छापे लगाये ।
तत्पश्चात् उसने दण्डरल उठाया और सात-आठ कदम पीछे हटा फिर पुन: तेजगति से आकर कपाट पर तीन बार तीव्र प्रहार किये। तीसरा प्रहार होते ही तेज आवाज हुई और सरसराहट के साथ कपाट खुलने प्रारम्भ हो गये ।
उसी समय चक्र रत्न आयुधशाला से निकलकर तमिस्र गुफा के दक्षिण द्वार की ओर चल दिया। राजा भरत भी अपनी विशाल सेना के साथ चक्र रत्न के पीछे चल दिये। तमिस्र गुफा के
द्वार पर पहुँचकर भरत ने काकिणी रत्न निकाल कर हथेली पर ले लिया और सेना के साथ तमिस्र गुफा में प्रवेश कर गये। काकिणी रत्न के प्रभाव से घोर अंधकार व्याप्त तमिस्र में बारह योजन तक प्रकाश फैल गया।

THE OPENING OF TAMISRA CAVE
One day king Bharat called his commander-in-chief Sushen and instructed him to open the southern gate of Tamisra cave. General Sushen took along elite of the kingdom and arrived at the southern gate of Tamisra cave. Following the procedure, he formally paid homage and performed ritual worship of the doors offering paddy and burning incense. He then put palm prints with sandalwood paste on the doors.

After that he lifted the great mace and took seven-eight steps backwards. He then rushed towards the gate and hit it three times with the mace. On the third blow there was a loud sound and the doors started opening with screeching sound.
At that instant Chakra-ratna moved from the armoury towards the southern gate of Tamisra cave. King Bharat followed with his great army. On reaching the gate of the cave King Bharat took out Kakini gem and placed it in his palm. The glow of the Kakini gem displaced the intense darkness of the Tamisra cave and its light spread to a distance of 12 Yojans.
