555555555555555555555555555555555 हैं, यों उन्हें जुगुप्सनीय या त्याज्य मानकर-उनसे ममत्व भाव हटाकर अपने-अपने गोत्र या परिवार के जनों में धन का बँटवारा कर वे सुदर्शना नामक पालखी में बैठे। देवों, मनुष्यों तथा असुरों की परिषद् उनके साथ-साथ चली। शंख बजाने वाले, चक्र घुमाने वाले, स्वर्णादि-निर्मित हल गले से लटकाये रहने वाले, मुँह से मंगलमय शुभ वचन बोलने वाले, मागध, भाट, चारण आदि स्तुतिगायक, औरों के कंधों पर बैठे पुरुष, शुभाशुभ-कथक, बाँस के सिरे पर खेल दिखाने वाले, मंख-चित्रपट दिखाकर आजीविका चलाने वाले, घण्टे बजाने वाले पुरुष उनके पीछे-पीछे चले। वे इष्ट कमनीय शब्दमय, प्रिय अर्थयुक्त, मन को सुन्दर लगने वाली, मन को बहुत रुचने वाली, शब्द एवं अर्थ की दृष्टि से विशिष्ट कल्याण-कल्याणप्राप्तसूचक, निरुपद्रव, धन्य-धन-प्राप्ति कराने वाली, अनर्थनिवारक, अनुप्रासादि अलंकारों से शोभित, हृदय तक पहुँचने वाली, सुबोध, हृद्गत क्रोध, शोक आदि ग्रन्थियों को मिटाकर प्रसन्न करने वाली, कानों को तथा मन को शान्ति देने वाली, पुनरुक्ति-दोष वर्जित, सैकड़ों अर्थों से युक्त अथवा सैकड़ों अर्थ-इष्ट-कार्य निष्पादक-वाणी द्वारा वे निरन्तर उनका इस प्रकार अभिनन्दन तथा अभिस्तवन-स्तुति करते थे____ “वैराग्य के वैभव से आनन्दित ! अथवा जगन्नन्द ! जगत् को आनन्दित करने वाले, भद्र ! जगत् का कल्याण करने वाले प्रभुवर ! आपकी जय हो, आपकी जय हो। आप धर्म के प्रभाव से परिषहों एवं उपसर्गों से निर्भय रहें, आकस्मिक भय-संकट, सिंह आदि हिंसक प्राणि-जनित भय अथवा भयंकर भय-घोर भय का सहिष्णुतापूर्वक सामना करने में सक्षम रहें। आपकी धर्मसाधना निर्विघ्न हो।"

[2] After spending the life as householder as above mentioned, in the first month of summer season namely first fortnight viz. dark fortnight of Chaitra on the ninth day in the afternoon, he renounced his attachment and control over silver, gold, state treasury, storehouses of foodgrains, the army, elephants, horses, chariots, the town, the harem, the huge collection of cash, gold, silver, pearls, gems, sphatik, rajapatt and the like including costly, worldly articles such as moonga jewel, red jewels, padmarag jewels realising that all these possessions are nonpermanent and worthy to be discarded. He withdrew his attachment for them completely and distributed his entire wealth among his family and members of his clan and then sat in a palanquin named Sudarshana. A gathering of human and divine beings and Asuras moved behind him. The conch-shell blowers, wheel movers, persons carrying gold plough on their neck, persons uttering ominous words, singers, maagadh, bhaat, chaaran and the like; person sitting on the shoulders of others, pole dancers, persons who earn their livelihood by exhibiting their art and skills followed him. They were honouring and appreciating him in beautiful words, loveable meaningful words, pleasant words, attractive words, words exhibiting welfare, words that cool down disturbances,
