तरह स्थूल मृषावाद आदि से भी समझना चाहिए तथा जो क्रोध से, मान से, माया से, लोभ
से, राग से, द्वेष से, कलह से, अभ्याख्यान से, पैशुन्य से, परपरिवाद से, रति-अरति से, * माया-मृषाभ से तथा मिथ्यादर्शन शल्य से स्थूल रूप से तो निवृत्त होते हैं, किन्तु सूक्ष्म रूप में अनिवृत्त अविरत रहते हैं।
वे स्थूल रूप में जीवनभर के लिए आरम्भ-समारम्भ से विरत होते हैं, किन्तु सूक्ष्म रूप a) में अविरत होते हैं, वे जीवनभर के लिए स्थूलरूप में किसी क्रिया के करने-कराने से विरत * होते हैं, सूक्ष्म रूप से अप्रतिविरत होते हैं, वे जीवनभर के लिए पकाने-पकवाने से स्थूल 1 रूप में प्रतिविरत होते हैं, किन्तु सूक्ष्म रूप में अविरत होते हैं, इसी प्रकार कूटने-पीटने,
तर्जित करने-कटु वचनों द्वारा भर्त्सना करने, ताड़ना करने, थप्पड़ आदि द्वारा ताड़ित करने, वध-प्राण लेने, बन्ध-रस्सी आदि से बाँधने, परिक्लेश-पीड़ा देने से स्थूल रूप में
प्रतिविरत होते हैं, सूक्ष्म रूप में अप्रतिविरत होते हैं, वे जीवनभर के लिए स्नान, मर्दन, ॐ वर्णक, विलेपन, शब्द, स्पर्श, रस, रूप, गन्ध, माला तथा अलंकार से स्थूल रूप में विरत
होते हैं, सूक्ष्म रूप में अविरत रहते हैं, इसी प्रकार और भी पापमय प्रवृत्तियुक्त, छल
प्रपंचयुक्त, दूसरों के प्राणों को कष्ट पहुँचाने वाले कर्मों से जीवनभर के लिए स्थूल रूप में 5) प्रतिविरत होते हैं, किन्तु स्थूल रूप में अप्रतिविरत रहते हैं। THE UPAPAT OF ALPARAMBHI AND OTHER HUMAN BEINGS
122. In places like gram, aakar,... and so on up to... sannivesh there live people who—commit minimum violence barely essential for subsistence (alparambhi). They are content with limited wealth and possessions (alpaparigrahi). They follow the religious conduct are not as stated in scriptures (dharmik). They pursue the spiritual path as stated in the Agams (dharmanug). They have affinity for religione (dharmisth). They preach religion to the worthy (dharmakhyayi) or are famous as being religious (dharmakhyati). They consider religion to be their goal. They are absorbed in religion (dharmapraranjan), are steadfast in following the right religious conduct and earn their livelihood religiously. They are good in religious conduct (sushil). They are good observers of vows (suvrat) and are blissful in following the religious path (supratyanand).
Under the guidance of ascetics they partially and broadly abstain from harming or destroying life (pranatipat) for their whole
life but not absolutely and precisely. The same statement should be । अम्बड़ परिव्राजक प्रकरण
