मोत्थु णं समणस्स भगवतो महावीरस्स
सुयं मे, आउ ! तेणं भगवया एवमक्खायं । श्रुतं मया, आयुष्मन् ! तेन भगवता एवमाख्यातम् ।
प्रथम दशा
पदार्थान्वयः - आउसं हे आयुष्मन् शिष्य !, मे-मैंने, सुयं सुना है, तेणं-उस, भगवया - भगवान् ने एवं इस प्रकार अक्खायं प्रतिपादन किया है ।
मूलार्थ - हे आयुष्मन् शिष्य ! मैने सुना है, प्रतिपादन किया है ( कहा है) ।

टीका - इस सूत्र में तीन [ आप्त - वाक्य', कोमल - आमन्त्रण ( सम्बोधन) और अपौरुषेय - वाक्य ] विषयों का स्पष्ट वर्णन किया गया है । आप्त वाक्यों का समुदाय 'शास्त्र' कहलाता है । वह (शास्त्र) पौरुषेय' है, अपौरुषेय नहीं । कोमल आमन्त्रण चित्त - प्रासादक माना गया है, इसलिए श्रीसुधर्माचार्य श्रीजम्बूस्वामी को 'आउस' इस कोमल - आमन्त्रण से सम्बोधित कर कहते हैं:
