हिन्दीभाषाटीकासहितम् ।
सम्मान करें । भगवान् कल्याण-कारी, मङ्गल-दायक, देवाधिदेव और ज्ञानवान् हैं । अतः चलकर उनकी पर्युपासना (सेवा) करें । यह पर्युपासना हमको इहलोक और परलोक में हित के लिए, सुख के लिए, क्षेम के लिए, मोक्ष के लिए और यावत् भव-परम्परा श्रेणी में सुख के लिए होगी ।“ चेल्लणादेवी श्रेणिक राजा के पास से यह समाचार सुनकर चित्त में हर्षित और सन्तुष्ट हुई और उसने राजा के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार किया और स्वीकार करः

टीका - इस सूत्र में श्रीभगवान् के दर्शनादि की महिमा वर्णन की गई है । महाराज श्रेणिक चेल्लाणादेवी के पास गये और कहने लगे "हे देव - प्रिये ! तथारूप अर्हन्त और भगवन्तों के दर्शन और नाम गोत्र श्रवण करने का ही बड़ा फल होता है, तब उनके पास जाकर वन्दना और नमस्कार करने का, उनके हितोपदेश सुनने का और उनकी सेवा करने का कितना फल होगा, यह वर्णनातीत हैं । जो उनके अमूल्य उपदेशों को ध्यान - पूर्वक सुनता है और उसको श्रद्धा के साथ धारण करता है, वह इस लोक और परलोक में निरन्तर सुख ही सुख प्राप्त करता है । इसलिए हे देव-प्रिये ! आओ हम भी श्रमण भगवान् महावीर स्वामी की स्तुति करें । उनको नमस्कार करें । वस्त्र आदि से उनका सत्कार और उचित प्रतिपत्ति से उनका सम्मान करें । भगवान् कल्याण-रूप हैं, दुःख दूर करने के लिए देवाधिदेव हैं, ज्ञान - स्वरूप हैं, अतः चलो हम उनकी पर्युपासना करें, क्योंकि उनकी सेवा हमको इस लोक और परलोक में हित-कर, सुख-कर, क्षेम - कर अथवा शक्ति-दायक, मोक्ष-प्रद तथा भव - परम्परा श्रेणी में सुख देने वाली होगी" ।
चेल्लणादेवी महाराज श्रेणिक के मुख से उक्त वचनों को सुनकर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुई और उसने सहर्ष महाराज के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार कर लिया ।

This **paryupasana** will be for our benefit in this world and the next, for our happiness, for our well-being, for our liberation, and for happiness in all the series of births and deaths.

Hearing this news from King Chellanadadevi, she was delighted and satisfied in her heart. She accepted the King's proposal and agreed.

**Commentary:** This sutra describes the greatness of seeing the Lord, etc. King Shrenik went to Chellanadadevi and said, "O beloved of the gods! The mere sight of the Arhant and the Bhagavants, and the hearing of their name and lineage, bears great fruit. Then, how much fruit will there be in going to them, offering them obeisance and prostration, listening to their teachings, and serving them? It is beyond description. Whoever listens attentively to their invaluable teachings and holds them with faith, obtains continuous happiness in this world and the next. Therefore, O beloved of the gods! Let us also praise the Shraman Bhagavan Mahavira Swami. Let us offer him obeisance. Let us honour him with clothes, etc., and respect him with proper offerings. The Lord is auspicious, the Lord of Lords for removing suffering, the embodiment of knowledge. Therefore, let us perform his **paryupasana**, because his service will be beneficial, happy, prosperous, or empowering, liberating, and happiness-giving in the series of births and deaths."

Hearing these words from King Shrenik's mouth, Chellanadadevi was very pleased and readily accepted the King's proposal.
