दशाश्रुतस्कन्धसूत्रम्
सींच कर सम्मार्जित कर सुचारु रूप से लिपवा डालो, सुगन्धित कर भली भांति अलंकृत करो। कहने का तात्पर्य इतना ही है तुम लोगों को नगर के सजाने में किसी प्रकार भी त्रुटि नहीं रखनी चाहिए । आज भगवान् के आगमन का उत्सव मनाया जायेगा। वे लोग यह सब ठीक कर महाराजा से आकर निवेदन करते हैं ।
दशमी दशा
यहां पर सूत्रकार ने संक्षेप से ही इसका वर्णन किया है जो इसके विशेष रूप के जिज्ञासु हों उनको इसका विस्तृत वर्णन 'औपपातिकसूत्र' से जानना चाहिए ।
इसके अनन्तर क्या हुआ यह सूत्रकार स्वयं कहते हैं:
ततो णं से सेणिए राया बलवाउयं सद्दावेइश्त्ता एवं वयासी- खिप्पामेव भो देवाणुप्पिया! हयगय रह जोह-कलियं चाउरंगिणिं सेणं सण्णाहेह, जाव ते वि पच्चप्पिणति ।
ततो नु स श्रेणिको राजा बलव्यापृतं शब्दापयति, शब्दापयित्वेवमवादीत्क्षिप्रमेव भो देवानां प्रिय ! हय-गज-रथ-योध-कलितां चतुरंगिणीं सेनां सन्नाहय, यावत्सोऽपि प्रत्यर्पयति ।
पदार्थान्वयः -- ततो णं- तत्पश्चात् से- वह सेणिए-श्रेणिक राया- राजा बलवाउयं -सेना-नायक को सद्दावेइ - बुलाता है और सद्दावेइत्ता - बुलाकर एवं वयासी - इस प्रकार कहने लगा भो देवाणुप्पिया - हे देवों के प्रिय खिप्पामेव- शीघ्र ही तुम हय - घोड़े गय - हाथी रह-रथ और जोह - कलियं - योधाओं से युक्त चाउरंगिणीं - चतुरंगिणी सेणं - सेना को सण्णाह - तय्यार करो। जाव - यावत् से वि-वह भी उस आज्ञा को पूरी कर पच्चपिणति - महाराज से निवेदन करता है ।
मूलार्थ - इसके अनन्तर महाराज श्रेणिक ने सेना नायक को बुलाया और कहा - "हे देवों के प्रिय ! तुम शीघ्र ही जाकर घोड़े, हाथी, रथ और योधाओं से युक्त चतुरंगिणी सेना को तय्यार करो"। जब महाराज की आज्ञा पूरी हो गई तो उनको आकर सूचित किया ।
