भोगों की सदैव अभिलाषा करता है और भोग करने पर भी उनसे तृप्त नहीं होता वह महा-मोहनीय कर्म की उपार्जना करता है । क्योंकि अत्यन्त विषय-वासना आत्मा को संसार-चक्र में ही घेरे रहती है और उसकी पूर्ति के लिए पुरुष का चित्त सदैव विविध आस्रव-सम्बन्धी संकल्पों से आक्रान्त रहता है । अतः भव्य व्यक्ति और मुमुक्षुओं को अत्यन्त विषय-वासना का सर्वथा त्याग करना चाहिए । यहां सूत्रकार ने स्पष्ट कर दिया है कि जो व्यक्ति सदैव इसी विषय में ध्यान लगाए रहते हैं उनका उक्त कर्म के बन्धन से कदापि छुटकारा नहीं होता ।
यहां 'आस्वदते' क्रिया-पद का अर्थ अभिलाषा बनाये रखना है । अब सूत्रकार उनतीसवें स्थान का वर्णन करते हुए देवों के विषय में कहते हैं :इड्ढी जुई जसो वण्णो देवाणं बलवीरियं । तेसिं अवण्णवं बाले महामोहं पकव्वइ ।।२६।। ऋद्धिषुतिर्यशो वर्णं देवानां बलं वीर्यम् । तेषामवर्णवान् बालो महामोहं प्रकुरुते ।।२६।।
पदार्थान्वयः-देवाणं-देवों की इड्ढी-विमानादि सम्पत् जुई-शरीर और आभरणों की कान्ति जसो-यश वण्णो-शुक्लादि वर्ण तथा बलवीरियं-बल और वीर्य हैं बाले-जो अज्ञानी उनकी अवण्णवं-निन्दा करता है वह महामोहं-महा-मोहनीय कर्म की पकुव्वइ-उपार्जना करता है ।
___ मूलार्थ-देवों की ऋद्धि, द्युति, यश, वर्ण तथा बल और वीर्य सिद्ध हैं । जो अज्ञानी उनकी निन्दा करता है वह महा-मोहनीय कर्म की उपार्जना करता है ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में बताया गया है कि सद् वस्तु को असद् बताने का क्या परिणाम होता है । जो व्यक्ति सम्यग् ज्ञान से हीन है वह इस बात को बिना जाने हुए कि देवों की विमानादि सम्पत्ति है, शरीर और आभरणों की कान्ति है, सर्वत्र उनका यश है, उनका शारीरिक बल है तथा जीव से उत्पन्न हुआ उनका वीर्य है, उन देवों की सब प्रकार से निन्दा करता है, उनकी शक्ति का उपहास करता है, उनकी उपर्युक्त शक्ति होते हुए भी

He who always desires pleasures and is not satisfied even after enjoying them, earns the Maha-Mohaniya Karma. Because extreme attachment to objects keeps the soul bound in the cycle of birth and death, and to fulfill it, the mind of the person is always afflicted with various Asrava-related resolutions. Therefore, the Bhavyas and the Mumukhsus should completely renounce extreme attachment to objects. Here, the Sutrakar has clearly stated that those who are always engrossed in this subject, never get rid of the bondage of the said Karma.
