हिन्दीभाषाटीकासहितम् ।
टीका - इस सूत्र में विश्वास घात के विषय में कहा गया है । जिस प्रकार सर्पिणी अपने अण्ड-समूह को स्वयं ही मारकर खा जाती है इसी प्रकार जो सबके पालक घर के स्वामी की, सेनापति की, राजा की, अमात्य की तथा धर्माचार्य की हिंसा करता है वह महा- मोहनीय कर्म की उपार्जना करता है । उक्त व्यक्तियों की हिंसा करना इतना क्रूर तथा नीच - तम कर्म है कि हत्यारा किसी प्रकार से भी महा- मोहनीय कर्म के बन्धन से छुटकारा नहीं पा सकता ।

सूत्रकार ने उपर्युक्त हिंसाओं की बच्चों को मार कर खाने वाली सर्पिणी से उपमा दी है । उनका तात्पर्यं यह है कि माता सदैव अपने बच्चों का पालन करने वाली होती है । जब माता ही रक्षा करने के स्थान पर उनका भक्षण करने लगेगी तो उनकी रक्षा करने वाला कौन हो सकता है । इसी प्रकार जब घर और राज्य के रक्षक ही गृहपति और राजा की हिंसा करने लगेंगे तो वे महा-मोहनीय कर्म के बन्धन से कैसे बच सकते हैं ।
सूत्र में 'अंडउडं' शब्द आया है । उसके दो अर्थ होते हैं- 'अण्ड - कूटं' 'अण्ड - पुटं' वा । 'अण्डकूटं' अर्थात् अपने अण्ड-समूह को और 'अण्ड - पुट' - अण्डस्य पुटं तत्सम्बन्धि दलद्वयम् । अर्थात् अण्डे की रक्षा करने वाले छिलकों को तोड़ कर नाश करती है ।
क्योंकि उपर्युक्त व्यक्तियों की हिंसा से बहुत से जनों की परिस्थिति बिगड़ जाती है अतः हिंसक के लिए महा-मोहनीय कर्म का विधान किया गया है ।
अब सूत्रकार उक्त विषय में ही सोलहवें स्थान का विषय वर्णन करते हैं :
जे नायगं च रट्टस्स नेयारं निगमस्स वा । सेट्टिं बहुरवं हंता महामोहं पकुव्वइ ||१६|| यो नायकञ्च राष्ट्रस्य नेतारं निगमस्य वा ।
श्रेष्ठिनं बहुरवं हन्ति महामोहं प्रकुरुते || १६ ।।
पदार्थान्वयः - जे -जो रट्ठस्स- देश के नायगं-नायक को वा अथवा निगमस्स - व्यापारियों के नेयारं नेता को च- और बहुरवं- बहुत यश वाले सेट्ठि-श्रेष्ठी को हंता - मारता है वह महामोहं - महा - मोहनीय कर्म की पकुव्वइ - उपार्जना करता है ।
मूलार्थ - जो देश के और व्यापारियों के नेता को तथा महा-यशस्वी श्रेष्ठी को मारता है वह महा-मोहनीय कर्म की उपार्जना करता है ।
