जिस प्रकार उसका तत्त्व है, या उसमें याथातथ्य है, उसी प्रकार काय से स्पर्श कर, उपयोग-पूर्वक पालन कर, अतिचारों से शुद्ध कर, कीर्ति द्वारा पूर्ति कर श्री भगवान् की आज्ञा से आत्मा द्वारा आराधन या पालन की जाती है । प्रत्येक प्रतिमा-प्रतिपन्न मुनि को इसी रीति से इसका पालन करना चाहिए । जो मुनि इस प्रकार नियम और विधिपूर्वक इसका पालन करेगा वह अवश्य ही सफल होगा ।
___ अब सूत्रकार दूसरी प्रतिमा से लेकर सातवीं प्रतिमा तक का वर्णन निम्नति सूत्र में करते हैं :
दोमासियं भिक्खु-पडिमं पडिवन्नस्स निच्चं वोसट्टकाए चेव जाव दो दत्तीओ |२|| तिमासियं तिण्णि दत्तीओ ||३|| चत्तारि मासियं चत्तारि दत्तीओ ||४|| पंचमासियं पंच दत्तीओ ।।५।। छमासियं छ दत्तीओ ।।६।। सत्तमासियं सत्त दत्तीओ ।७।। जेत्तिया मासिया तेत्तिया दत्तीओ ।
द्विमासिकी भिक्षु-प्रतिमा प्रतिपन्नस्य नित्यं व्युत्सृष्टकायस्य चैव यावद् द्वे दत्त्यौ ।।२।। त्रिमासिकी तिस्रो दत्त्यः ।।३।। चतुर्मासिकी चतस्रो दत्त्यः ।।४।। पञ्चमासिकी पञ्च दत्त्यः ।।५।। षण्मासिकी षड् दत्त्यः ।।६।। सप्तमासिकीं सप्त दत्त्यः ।।७।। यावत्यो मासिक्यस्तावत्यो दत्त्यः ।
पदार्थान्वयः-दोमासियं-द्वि-मासिकी भिक्खु-पडिमं पडिवन्नस्स-भिक्षु-प्रतिमा-प्रतिपन्न अनगार निच्चं-सदा वोसट्ठकाए-व्युत्सृष्ट शरीर वाला जाव-यावत् प्रथम प्रतिमा की विधि प्रतिपादन की गई है उसका पालन करता है किन्तु केवल दो दत्तीओ-दो दत्ति अन्न की और दो दत्ति जल की ग्रहण करता है । 'च' और 'एव' अवधारण अर्थ में हैं । इसी प्रकार तिमासियं-त्रिमासिकी भिक्षु-प्रतिमा में तिण्णि दत्तीओ-तीन दत्ति हैं चउमासियं-चतुर्मासि की भिक्षु-प्रतिमा में चत्तारि दत्तीओ-चार दत्ति हैं पंचमासियं-पञ्चमासिकी भिक्षु-प्रतिमा में पंच दत्तीओ--पांच दत्ति हैं छमासियं-षण्मासिकी भिक्षु-प्रतिमा में छ दत्तीओ-छ: दत्ति हैं सत्तमासियं-सप्तमासिकी भिक्षु-प्रतिमा में सत्त दत्तीओ-सात दत्ति हैं । जेत्तिया-जितनी मासिया-मासिकी प्रतिमाएं हैं तेत्तिया-उतनी ही दत्तीओ-दत्ति हैं ।

Just as its essence is, or as it truly is, in the same way, by touching the body, by nurturing it usefully, by purifying it from transgressions, by fulfilling it with fame, by the command of the Lord, it is worshipped or nurtured by the soul. Every Muni who has attained the image should follow this practice. The Muni who follows this practice in a regulated and methodical way will surely succeed.

**Now the Sutrakar describes the second image to the seventh image in the following Sutra:**

**2. ** A two-month *bhikkhu-padima* who has attained the image, and who has a constantly shed body, should take only two *datti* of food and two *datti* of water. The words "cha" and "eva" indicate a definitive meaning.
