अतः आशातना से बचने के लिए शिष्य को कभी भी ऊपर कही हुई क्रियाएं नहीं करनी चाहिए । इसी से गुरू-भक्ति बनी रह सकती है और विनय-धर्म का भी पालन हो सकता है ।
अब सूत्रकार उक्त विषय की ही आशातना का निरूपण करते है:
सेहे रायणियस्स कहं कहेमाणस्स परिसं भेत्ता भवइ आसायणा सेहस्स ।।२८।।
शैक्षो रात्निकस्य कथां कथयतः परिषद्भत्ता भवत्याशातना शैक्षस्य ।।२८।।
पदार्थन्वयः-सेहे-शिष्य रायणियस्स-रत्नाकर के कह-कथा कहेमाणस्स-कहते हुए परिसं-परिषत् (श्रोतृ-गण का) भेत्ता-भेदन करता है तो सेहस्स-शिष्य को आसायणा-आशातना भवइ-होती है ।
। मूलार्थ-शिष्य रत्नाकर के कथा करते हुए यदि परिषद् का भेदन करे तो उसको आशातना होती है ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में वर्णन किया गया है कि यदि कहीं पर रत्नाकर धर्म-कथा कर रहा हो और धर्म-प्रचार से प्रभावित होकर जनता शान्ति-पूर्वक कथा श्रवण में दत्त-चित्त हो तो उस समय परिषद्-भङ्ग करने का प्रयत्न कभी नहीं करना चाहिए। यदि कोई शिष्य "भिक्षा का समय हो गया है, कथा समाप्त होनी चाहिए" या "आपको तो कथा से ही प्रेम है, यहां और साधु भूख से पीड़ित हो रहे हैं" इत्यादि वाक्य कहकर विघ्न उपस्थित करदे और श्रोता उठ कर चले जाएं, फलतः जिनको उस कथा से धर्म-लाभ होना था वे उससे वञ्चित रह जाएं तो उस शिष्य को आशातना लगेगी । तथा गुरू और शिष्य के इस बर्ताव से जनता में उनका उपहास होने लगेगा; विनय-धर्म का अपमान हो जाएगा; ज्ञान, दर्शन और चरित्र में हानि होने का भय होगा; आत्म-विराधना और संयम-विराधना के कारण उपस्थित हो जाएंगे तथा आत्मा ज्ञानावरणीयादि कर्मों के बन्धन में फंस जाएगा । अतः परिषद्-भङ्ग कदापि नहीं करना चाहिए ।
