२४८. सब द्वीपों और सब समुद्रों में सबसे मध्य में जम्बूद्वीप नाम का एक द्वीप है, [वह सबसे छोटा है। वह तेल में तले हुए पूआ के संस्थान (आकार) जैसा, रथ के चक्र-संस्थान जैसा, कमलकर्णिका के संस्थान जैसा है तथा परिपूर्ण चन्द्र के संस्थान जैसा वृत्त (गोलाकार) है। वह एक लाख योजन लम्बाई-चौड़ाई वाला है। उसकी परिधि (घेरा) तीन लाख, सोलह हजार, दो सौ सत्ताईस योजन, तीन कोस, अट्ठाईस, धनुष, तेरह अंगुल और] आधे अंगुल से कुछ अधिक है।
