4 (१७) शब्द, (१८) रूप, (१९) गन्ध, (२०) रस, और (२१) स्पर्श, इनका अनुभव करके सुमन, धुर्मन और तटस्थ रहने के उक्त प्रकार से तीन-तीन रूप भूत, वर्तमान व भविष्य काल के जान लेने
प्रचाहिए।

4 ऊपर कहे गये सभी स्थान शील-व्रत-विहीन पुरुष के लिये गर्हित होते हैं और शीलवान व्यक्ति के पलिये प्रशस्त होते हैं, इसी प्रकार एक-एक पद के तीन-तीन आलापक जानने चाहिये। जैसे कि
कोई पुरुष शब्द को सुनकर सुमना, दुर्मना होता है और एक मध्यस्थ वृत्ति रहता है। (१) F कोई शब्द को सुनता हूँ, इस विचार से हर्षित, एक अप्रसन्न और एक मध्यस्थ रहता है। (२)
कोई शब्द को सुनूँगा, ऐसा विचारने पर सुमन, कोई दुर्मन और कोई मध्यस्थ रहता है। (३) इसी प्रकार कोई व्यक्ति शब्द न सुनकर सुमन, कोई दुर्मन और कोई समभावयुक्त करता है। (४) शब्द नहीं सुनता, यह सोचकर कोई व्यक्ति सुमन, कोई दुर्मन और कोई समभावयुक्त होता है। (५)
शब्द नहीं सुनूँगा ऐसा विचारने पर कोई सुमन, कोई दुर्मन और कोई एक मध्यस्थ होता है। (६) ॐ इसी प्रकार रूप, गन्ध, रस और स्पर्श के भी एक-एक के छः-छः आलापक कथन करने चाहिये। # इस तरह उक्त २१ आलापक का प्रत्येक के ६ भेद करने पर कुल १२७ भेद हो जाते हैं। 4. 188. (These are three facets related to the upast.) 190. Men are of three kinds-(1) a man is happy thinking that he
goes some place, (2) a man is unhappy thinking that he goes some place, Sand (3) a man is neither happy nor unhappy thinking that he goes some $lace. (These are three facets related to the present.) 191. In the same way a man is happy, unhappy or neutral thinking that he will go some place. (These are three facets related to the future.)
192. Men are of three kinds-a man is happy, another is unhappy and yet another is neutral thinking that he did not go to some place. E 193. Men are of three kinds-a man is happy, another is unhappy and yet another is neutral thinking that he does not go to some place.
194. Men are of three kinds—a man is happy, another is unhappy and wyet another is neutral thinking that he will not go to some place. $ 195. In the same way a man is happy, another is unhappy and yet. another is neutral thinking that he had come to some place.
