म २३. उस दिन क्षत्रियकुण्डग्राम नामक नगर में शृंगाटक, त्रिक, चतुष्क और चौराहोत्वर यावत्
महापथ पर बहुत-से लोगों का कोलाहल हो रहा था, इत्यादि सारा वर्णन औपपातिकसूत्रानुसार जानना + चाहिए; यावत् बहुत-से लोग परस्पर एक-दूसरे से इस प्रकार कह रहे थे, यावत् बता रहे थे कि + देवानुप्रियो ! आदिकर (धर्म-तीर्थ की आदि करने वाले) यावत् सर्वज्ञ, सर्वदर्शी श्रमण भगवान ॐ महावीर, इस ब्राह्मणकुण्डग्राम नगर के बाहर बहुशाल नामक उद्यान (चैत्य) में यथायोग्य अवग्रह ग्रहण 5 करके यावत् विचरते हैं। अतः हे देवानुप्रियो ! तथारूप अरिहन्त भगवान के नाम, गोत्र के श्रवण-मात्र
से महान् फल होता है; (तो उनके दर्शन-वंदन-पर्युपासना का तो कहना ही क्या ?) इत्यादि वर्णन ॐ औपपातिकसूत्रानुसार जान लेना चाहिए, यावत् वह जनसमूह तीन प्रकार की (शरीर से नमन, वचन से + स्तुति, मन से भक्ति उल्लासपूर्वक) पर्युपासना करता है।
