+ ९. [प्र. ] असोच्चा णं भंते ! केवलि० जाव केवलं सुयनाणं उप्पाडेज्जा ?
[उ. ] एवं जहा आभिणिबोहियनाणस्स वत्तव्वया भणिया तहा सुयनाणस्स वि भाणियव्वा, नवरं सुयनाणावरणिज्जाणं कम्माणं खओवसमे भाणियव्ये।
९. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! केवली आदि से सुने बिना ही क्या कोई जीव श्रुतज्ञान उपार्जन कर लेता है ?
[उ. ] (गौतम !) जिस प्रकार आभिनिबोधिकज्ञान का कथन किया गया, उसी प्रकार शुद्ध श्रुतज्ञान के विषय में भी कहना चाहिए। विशेष इतना ही है कि यहाँ श्रुतज्ञानावरणीय कर्मों का क्षयोपशम कहना
चाहिए।

9. (Q.) Bhante ! Can a jiva (living being) acquire Shrut-jnana (scriptural knowledge) even without hearing (the sermon) from the omniscient ... and so on up to... or his (self-enlightened omniscient's) female devotee (upaasika)?
(Ans.] Gautam ! What has been said about Abhinibodhik jnana should be repeated here. The only difference is that in this case the destruction-cum-pacification is of Shrut-jnanaavaraniya karma
(scriptural knowledge obscuring karma). ज १०. एवं चेव केवलं ओहिनाणं भाणियव्वं; नवरं ओहिणाणावरणिज्जाणं कम्माणं खओवसमे भाणियब्वे।
१०. इसी प्रकार शुद्ध अवधिज्ञान के उपार्जन के विषय में कहना चाहिए। विशेष यह है कि यहाँ 卐 अवधिज्ञानावरणीय कर्म का क्षयोपशम कहना चाहिए।

is of Avadhi-jnanaavaraniya karma (karma that obscures extrasensory perception of the physical dimension).
११. एवं केवलं मणपज्जवनाणं उप्पाडेज्जा, नवरं मणपज्जवणाणावरणिज्जाणं कम्माणं खओवसमे भाणियव्ये।
११. इसी प्रकार शुद्ध मनःपर्ययज्ञान के उत्पन्न होने के विषय में कहना चाहिए। विशेष इतना ही है है कि मनःपर्ययज्ञानावरण कर्म के क्षयोपशम का कथन करना चाहिए।

is that in this case the destruction-cum-pacification is of Manah-paryavi jnanaavaraniya karma (karma that obscures extrasensory perception
and knowledge of thought process and thought-forms of other beings).
