नहीं बाँधेगा। इस प्रकार ( प्रश्न में कथित ) सभी (आठों) भंग यहाँ कहने चाहिए । ग्रहणाकर्ष की अपेक्षा (१) किसी एक जीव ने बाँधा, बाँधता है, बाँधेगा; (२) किसी एक जीव ने बाँधा, बाँधता है, नहीं बाँधेगा; (३) बाँधा, नहीं बाँधता है, बाँधेगा; (४) बाँधा, नहीं बाँधता, नहीं बाँधेगा; (५) किसी एक जीव ने नहीं बाँधा, बाँधता है, यहाँ तक ( यावत्) कहना चाहिए। इसके पश्चात् छठा भंग नहीं बाँधा, नहीं है, बाँधेगा; नहीं कहना चाहिए। (तदनन्तर सातवाँ भंग-किसी एक जीव ने नहीं बाँधा, नहीं बाँधता है, बाँधेगा और आठवा भंग एक जीव ने नहीं बाँधा, नहीं बाँधता, नहीं बाँधेगा, ( कहना 5 चाहिए।)

Is this bondage (of Iryapathik-karma) acquired by a 5 living being – (1) in the past, in the present and in the future; or (2) in the f past, in the present, but not in the future; or ( 3 ) in the past, and in the 5 future, but not in the present; or ( 4 ) in the past, but not in the present, Fh and also not in the future; or ( 5 ) not in the past, but in the present, and in the future; or (6) not in the past, but in the present, and not in the future; or (7) not in the past, not in the present, but in the future; or (8) not in the past, not in the present, and not in the future ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! In context of acquisition of this bondage (of Iryapathik-karma) during past several births (bhavakarsh), this bondage is acquired by some living being in the past, in the present and in the future; by some being in the past, in the present, but not in the future ... and so on up to by some living being not in the past, not in the present, and not in the future. This way all eight alternatives given in the question should be repeated. In context of acquisition of this bondage i (of Iryapathik-karma) during a specific birth (grahanakarsh), this bondage is acquired by some living being (1) in the past, in the present and in the future; or ( 2 ) in the past, in the present, but not in the future; or (3) in the past, and in the future, but not in the present; or (4) in the ; past, but not in the present, and also not in the future; or (5) not in the past, but in the present, and in the future; these five alternatives hold good but the sixth alternative (not in the past, but in the present, and not in the future) does not hold good. [After that the seventh and eighth alternatives (not in the past, not in the present, but in the future; not in the past, not in the present, and not in the future) hold good.]
१५. [ प्र. ] तं भंते ! किं साईयं सपज्जवसियं बंधइ, साईयं अपज्जवसियं बंधइ, अणाईयं सपज्जवसियं बंधइ, अणाईयं अपज्जवसियं बंधइ ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! साईयं सपज्जवसियं बंधइ, नो साईयं अपज्जवसियं बंधइ, नो अणाईयं सपज्जवसियं बंध, नो अणाईयं अपज्जवसियं बंधइ ।
