916C SHABD (SOUND) शब्द-श्रवण की सीमा RANGE OF HEARING SOUND
१. [प्र. ] छउमत्थे णं भंते ! मणुस्से आउडिज्जमाणाई सद्दाइं सुणेति, तं जहा-संखसहाणि वा, सिंगसद्दाणि वा, संखियसद्दाणि वा, खरमुहिसद्दाणि वा, पोयासदाणि वा, परिपिरियासदाणि वा, म पणवसहाणि वा, पडहसद्दाणि वा, भंभासदाणि वा, होरंभसद्दाणि वा, भेरिसदाणि वा, झल्लरिसदाणि वा, दुंदुभिसद्दाणि वा, तताणि वा, वितताणि वा, घणाणि वा, झुसिराणि वा ?
[उ. ] हंता, गोयमा ! छउमत्थे णं मणूसे आउडिज्जमाणाई सद्दाइं सुणेति, तं जहा-संखसहाणि वा जाव झुसिराणि वा।
१.[प्र. ] भगवन् ! छद्मस्थ मनुष्य क्या बजाये जाते हुए वाद्यों के शब्दों को सुनता है ? यथा-शंख के शब्द, रणसींगे के शब्द, शंखिका (छोटे शंख) के शब्द, खरमुही (काहली नामक बाजे फौजी ढोल) के म शब्द, पोता (बड़ी काहली) के शब्द, परिपीरिता (सूअर के चमड़े से मढ़े हुए मुख वाले एक प्रकार के .
बाजे सितार जैसा बाजा जिसके दोनों सिरों पर तुम्बे लगे रहते हैं) के शब्द, पणव (ढोलकी) के शब्द, फ़ पटह (ढोल) के शब्द, भंभा (छोटी भेरी) के शब्द, होरेभा (महाढका), भेरी (नगाड़ा, डंका), झल्लरी + (झालर) के शब्द, दुन्दुभि के शब्द, तत (तांत बाजे वालों-वीणा आदि वाद्यों) के शब्द, वितत शब्द
(ढोल आदि विस्तृत बाजों के शब्द), घन शब्द (ठोस बाजों-कांस्य, ताल आदि वाद्यों के शब्द), शुषिर 卐 शब्द (बीच में पोले बाजों-बिगुल, बाँसुरी, बंशी आदि के शब्द); इत्यादि बाजों के शब्दों को?
[उ. ] हाँ, गौतम ! छद्मस्थ मनुष्य बजाये जाते हुए शंख यावत्-शुषिर आदि (पूर्वोक्त) वाद्यों के फ़ शब्दों को सुनता है।
1. (Q.] Bhante ! Does a person with finite cognition (chhadmasth) hear the sound of musical instruments being played ? Instruments such assound of Shankh (conch-shell), sound of Ranasingha (war-horn), sound of Shankhika (small conch-shell), sound of Kharamuhi (small drum), sound of Pota (large drum), sound of Paripirita (a Sitar-like instrument with gourds at both ends), sound of Panav (small drum), sound of Patah (a large drum), sound of Bhambha (a type of drum), sound of Horebha (a type of drum), sound of Bheri (a large drum), sound of Jhallari (cymbal), sound of Dundubhi (a type of drum), sound of tat (stringed instruments), sound of vitat (percussion instruments), sound of ghan (gong like solid instruments), sound of shushir (wind instruments) and other musical instruments?
