विवेचन : तामली तापस की यह घटना १८वें तीर्थंकर भगवान अरनाथ के शासनकाल की हो सकती है। क्योंकि तामली तापस ने ६० हजार वर्ष तक तपस्या की है। तो उसकी सम्पूर्ण आयु कम से कम ७५ हजार वर्ष 5 की तो होगी ही । भगवान अरनाथ के समय मध्यम आयु ८४ हजार वर्ष की मानी जाती है, जो भगवान की सकल आयु थी ।

Elaboration This incident of Tamali Tapas may be from the period of influence of the eighteenth Tirthankar Bhagavan Ar Naath. This is because Tamali Tapas is said to have done penance for sixty thousand years. This means that his total life-span must have been at least seventy thousand years. During the period of Bhagavan Ar Naath the average life-span is said to be eighty four thousand years, which is equal to his own life-span.

४२. [प्र. ] ईसाणस्स णं भंते ! देविंदस्स देवरण्णो केवतियं कालं टिइ पण्णत्ता ?
5 Indra (overlord) of Devs ( gods ) ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! सातिरेगाई दो सागरोवमाई टिइ पण्णत्ता ।
४२. [ प्र. ] भगवन् ! देवेन्द्र देवराज ईशान की स्थिति कितने काल की है ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! ईशानेन्द्र की स्थिति दो सागरोपम से कुछ अधिक की है।
42. [Q.] Bhante ! What is the life-span ( sthiti) of Ishanendra, the
[Ans.] Gautam ! The life-span ( sthiti) of Ishanendra is slightly more
than two Sagaropam (a conceptual unit of time).
४३. [प्र. ] ईसाणे णं भंते! देविंदे देवराया ताओ देवलोगाओ आउक्खएणं जाव कहिं गच्छिहिति ? कहिं उववज्जिहिति ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! महाविदेहे वासे सिज्झिहिति जाव अंतं काहिति ।
[ उ. ] गौतम ! वह (देवलोक से च्यवकर) महाविदेह वर्ष (क्षेत्र) में जन्म लेकर सिद्ध होगा यावत् 5 समस्त दुःखों का अन्त करेगा।
४३ . [ प्र. ] भगवन् ! देवेन्द्र देवराज ईशान देव आयुष्य पूर्ण होने पर उस देवलोक से च्युत होकर कहाँ जायेगा ? कहाँ उत्पन्न होगा ?
43. [Q.] Bhante ! Completing the life span of the dimension of gods and descending from that abode of gods, where will Ishanendra, the Indra (overlord) of Devs ( gods) go ? Where will he be born ?
