अथानन्तरमेवैनं मुनीन्द्रं गणनायकम् । सुसीमा भवसम्बन्धमात्मनः पृच्छति स्म सा ॥ ३८४ ॥ स्ववाकिरणजालेन बोधयंस्तन्मनोम्बुजम् । इत्युवाच विनेयानां निर्निमित्तैकबान्धवः ॥ ३८५ ॥ धातकीखण्डपूर्वार्ध-प्राग्विदेहेऽतिविश्रुतः । भोगाङ्गमङ्गिनामेको विषयो मङ्गलावती ॥ ३८६ ॥ रत्नसञ्चयनामात्र पुरं तत्प्रतिपालकः । विश्वदेवः प्रियास्यासीद्देवी 'श्रीमत्यनुन्दरी ॥ ३८७ ॥ तमयोध्यापतौ युद्धे हतवत्यतिशोकतः । सा मन्त्रिभिर्निषिद्धापि प्रविश्य हुतभोजिनम् ॥ ३८८ ॥ विजयार्धे सुरी भूत्वा व्यन्तरेष्वयुतायुषा । जीवित्वा तत्र तस्यान्ते भवे भ्रान्त्वा यथोचितम् ॥ ३८९ ॥ द्वीपेऽस्मिन्भारते शालिग्रामे यक्षस्य गेहिनी । देवसेनानयोर्यक्ष देवी जाता सुता सुधीः ॥ ३९० ॥ कदाचिद्धर्मसेनाख्यमुनिं संश्रित्य सद्व्रता । मासोपवासिने तस्मै दत्वा कायस्य सुस्थितिम् ॥ ३९१ ॥ सा कदाचिद्वने रन्तुं गत्वा वर्षभयाद् गुहाम् । प्रविष्टाऽजगरागीर्णा हरिवर्षे तनुं श्रिता ॥ ३९२ ॥ निविंश्य तद्गतान् भोगान् नागी जाता ततश्च्युता । च्युता ततो विदेहेऽस्मिन् पुष्फलावत्युदीरिते ॥ ३९३ ॥ विषये पुण्डरीकिण्यामशोकाख्य महीपतेः । सोमश्रियश्च श्रीकान्ता सुता भूत्वा कदाचन ॥ ३९४॥ जिनदत्तार्थिकोपान्ते दीक्षामादाय सुव्रता । तपस्यन्ती चिरं घोरमुपोष्य कनकावलीम् ॥ ३९५॥ माहेन्द्रे दिविजीभूत्वा भुक्त्वा भोगान्दिवौकसाम् । आयुरन्ते ततश्च्युत्वा सुज्येष्ठायां सुताऽभवः॥ ३९६॥ सुराष्ट्रवर्धनाख्यस्य नृपस्य त्वं सुलक्षणा । हरेर्देवी प्रमोदेन वर्धसे वल्लभा सती ॥३९७॥ स्वभवान्तरसम्बन्धमाकयैषाप संमदम् । को न गच्छति सन्तोषमुत्तरोत्तरवृद्धितः ॥३९८॥ लक्ष्मणापि मुनिं नत्वा शुश्रूषुः स्वभवानभूत् । अभाषतैवमेतस्याश्चिकीर्षुः सोऽप्यनुग्रहम् ॥ ३९९ ॥
अथानन्तर- इन्हीं गणनायक मुनिराजको नमस्कार कर सुसीमा नामकी पट्टरानी अपने पूर्व भवोंका सम्बन्ध पूछने लगी ॥ ३८४ ॥ तब शिष्यजनोंके अकारण बन्धु गणधर भगवान् अपने वचन रूपी किरणोंके समूहसे उसके मनरूपी कमलको प्रफुल्लित करते हुए इस प्रकार कहने लगे ।। ३८५ ।। धातकीखण्ड द्वीपके पूर्वार्ध भागके पूर्व विदेह में एक अतिशय प्रसिद्ध मङ्गलावती नामका देश है जो प्राणियोंके भोगोपभोगका एक ही साधन है । उसमें रत्नसंचय नामका एक नगर है । उसमें राजा विश्वदेव राज्य करता था और उसके शोभासम्पन्न अनुन्दरी नामकी रानी थी ।। ३८६-३८७|| किसी एक दिन अयोध्या राजाने राजा विश्वदेवको मार डाला इसलिए अत्यन्त शोकके कारण मंत्रियोंके निषेध करनेपर भी वह रानी अग्निमें प्रवेश कर जल मरी । मर कर वह विजयार्ध पर्वत पर दश हजार वर्षकी आयु वाली व्यन्तर देवी हुई । वहाँकी आयु पूर्ण होनेपर वह अपने कर्मोंके अनुसार संसार में भ्रमण करती रही । तदनन्तर किसी समय इसी जम्बूद्वीपके भरत क्षेत्र सम्बन्धी शालिग्राममें यक्षकी स्त्री देवसेनाके यक्षदेवी नामकी बुद्धिमती पुत्री हुई ।। ३८८ - ३६० ।। किसी एक दिन उसने धर्मसेन मुनिके पास जाकर व्रत ग्रहण किये और एक महीनेका उपवास करनेवाले मुनिराजको उसने आहार दिया ।। ३६१ ॥ यक्षदेवी किसी दिन क्रीड़ा करनेके लिए वनमें गई थी । वहाँ अचानक बड़ी वर्षा हुई। उसके भयसे वह एक गुफा में चली गई । वहाँ एक अजगर ने उसे निगल लिया जिससे हरिवर्ष नामक भोग-भूभि उत्पन्न हुई । वहाँ के भोग भोगकर नागकुमारी हुई। फिर वहाँसे चय कर विदेह क्षेत्र पुष्कलावती देश सम्बन्धी पुण्डरीकिणी नगरी में राजा अशोक और सोमश्री रानीके श्रीकान्ता नामकी पुत्री हुई। किसी एक दिन उसने जिनदत्ता आर्यिका के पास दीक्षा लेकर अच्छे-अच्छे व्रतोंका पालन किया, चिरकाल तक तपस्या की और कनकावली नामका घोर उपवास किया ।। ३६१३६५ || इन सबके प्रभावसे वह माहेन्द्र स्वर्गमें देवी हुई, वहाँ देवोंके भोग भोगकर आयुके अन्त में वहाँ से च्युत हुई और सुराष्ट्रवर्धन राजाकी रानी सुज्येष्ठाके अच्छे लक्षणोंवाली तू पुत्री हुई है और श्रीकृष्णकी पट्टरानी होकर आनन्दसे बढ़ रही है ।। ३६६-३६७ ।। इस प्रकार अपने भवान्तरोंका सम्बन्ध सुनकर सुसीमा रानी हर्षको प्राप्त हुई सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि अपनी उत्तरोत्तर वृद्धिको सुन कर कौन संतोषको प्राप्त नहीं होता ? ॥ ३६८ ॥

Thereafter, the queen Susima asked the chief of the ascetics, the lord of the congregation, about the connection of her previous births. 384 The one who is the kinsman of the disciples without any reason, enlightening his lotus-like mind with the multitude of the rays of his speech, spoke thus. 385 In the former part of the Dhātakīkhaṇḍa, in the Prāgvidehā, there is a renowned region called Maṅgalāvatī, which is the sole object of enjoyment for the embodied beings. 386 There is a city named Ratnasañcaya in it, whose protector was the king Viśvadeva, and his beautiful queen was called Śrīmatyanuṇdarī. 387 The king of Ayodhyā killed him in battle, due to which the queen, though forbidden by the ministers, entered the fire and died. 388 Becoming a Sūrī (celestial being) on the Vijayārḍha mountain, she lived for ten thousand years among the Vyantaras. At the end of that, wandering according to her karmas, 389 in this Bhārata-dvīpa, in Śāligrāma, she became the daughter of the Yakṣa-devī, the intelligent Devī, born to the Yakṣa couple Devasena and Devasena. 390 Once, taking refuge in the sage Dharmasena, the virtuous one, and giving sustenance to the fasting monk for a month, 391 she went to the forest for recreation, and due to fear of rain, entered a cave, where she was swallowed by a python, due to which the Harivṛṣa region was produced. 392 Entering into those enjoyments, she became a Nāgī (female serpent), and then fell from there to this Videha region, where she was born as Puṣkalāvatī, the daughter of King Aśoka and Queen Somaśrī. 393-394 At the end of the Jinavarṇa-upānte, she took initiation, and after performing severe austerities for a long time and observing the Kanakāvalī fast, 395 she became a celestial being in the Māhendra heaven, enjoyed the pleasures of the gods, and at the end of her life, fell from there and became the daughter of the virtuous Queen Sujyeṣṭhā, the wife of King Surāṣṭravarddhana. 396-397 You, the auspicious one, are now the beloved queen of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the king of Surāṣṭra, and you are flourishing with joy. 398 Hearing about the connection of her previous births, Susima the queen attained satisfaction, for who does not attain contentment upon hearing about their successive growth?

Thereafter, Queen Lakṣmaṇā also paid obeisance to the sage and desired to hear about her births.
