सितपक्षत्रयोदश्यां वैशाखे रेवतीविधौ । निशान्ते षोडशस्वमाः समभूवन् शोः स्फुटाः ॥ १५॥ सा 'प्रबुध्य फलान्यात्मपतेरवधिलोचनात् । तेषां विज्ञाय सम्भूतसुतेवासीत्ससम्मदा ॥१६॥ तदैतानुत्तरादन्त्यादस्या गर्भेऽभवद्विभुः। सुरेन्द्राश्चादिकल्याणमकुर्वत' समागताः ॥१७॥ धवले नवमासान्ते गुरुयोगे त्रयोदशी । दिने माघे सुतं मासे साऽसूतावधिलोचनम् ॥ १८ ॥ तदैवानिमिषाधीशास्तं नीत्वाऽमरभूधरे । क्षीराब्धिवारिभिर्भूरिकार्तस्वरघटोद्ध्तैः ॥ १९ ॥ अभिषिच्य विभूष्योच्चैर्धर्माख्यमगदन्मुदा । सर्वभूतहितश्रीमत्सद्धर्मपथदेशनात् ॥ २० ॥ अनन्तजिनसन्ताने चतुःसागरसम्मिते । काले पर्यन्तपल्योपमाः धर्मेऽस्तमीयुपि ॥२१॥ तदभ्यन्तरवायुर्धर्मनामोदयादि सः। दशलक्षसमाजीवी तप्तकाञ्चनसच्छविः ॥ २२ ॥ खाष्टैकहस्तसद्देहो उवयः कौमारमुद्वहन् । सार्द्धलक्षद्वयादन्ते लब्धराज्यमहोदयः ॥ २३ ॥ तुङ्गत्वादतिशुद्धत्वात्प्रेक्ष्यत्वात्स्वाश्रयात्ततः। अशेषपोषकत्वाच्च मेघान्तजलदोपमः ॥ २४ ॥ भद्रत्वात् बहुदानत्वात्सौलक्षण्यान्महत्त्वतः। सुकरत्वात्सुरेभत्वादपरो वा गजोत्तमः ॥ २५॥ निग्रहानुग्रहौ तस्य न द्वेषेच्छाप्रवर्तितौ । गुणदोषकृतौ तस्मानिगृह्णन्नपि पूज्यते ॥ २६ ॥ कीर्तिस्तस्य लता सत्यं नो चेद्विश्वविसपिणी । कथं कविवचोवारिषेकादद्यापि वर्द्धते ॥ २७ ॥
धरित्री सुखसम्भोग्या तस्य स्वगुणरजिता । नायिकेवोचमा काममभीष्टफलदायिनी ॥ २८ ॥ बढ़ाया था। रानी सुप्रभाने वैशाख शुक्ल त्रयोदशीके दिन रेवती नक्षत्र में प्रातःकालके समय सोलह स्वप्न देखे ॥ १३-१५ ।। जागकर उसने अपने अवधिज्ञानी पतिसे उन स्वप्नोंका फल मालूम किया और ऐसा हर्षका अनुभव किया मानो पुत्र ही उत्पन्न हो गया हो ॥ १६ ॥ उसी समय अन्तिम अनुत्तरविमानसे -सर्वार्थसिद्धिसे चयकर वह अहमिन्द्र रानीके गर्भ में अवतीर्ण हुआ । इन्द्रोंने आकर गर्भकल्याणकका उत्सव किया ॥ १७ ॥ नव माह बीत जाने पर माघ शुक्ला त्रयोदशीके दिन गुरुयोगमें उसने अवधिज्ञानरूपी नेत्रोंके धारक पत्रको उत्पन्न किया ॥ १८ ॥ उसी समय इन्द्रोंने सुमेरु पर्वत पर ले जाकर बहुत भारी सुवर्ण-कलशोंमें भरे हुए क्षीरसागरके जलसे उनका अभिषेक कर आभूषण पहिनाये तथा हर्षसे धर्मनाथ नाम रक्खा ॥ १६॥ जब अनन्तनाथ भगवानके बाद चार सागर प्रमाण काल बीत चुका और अन्तिम प्रलयका आधा भाग जब धर्मरहित हो गया तब धर्मनाथ भगवानका जन्म हुआ था, उनकी आयु भी इसी अन्तरालमें शामिल थी। उनकी आयु दशलाख वर्षकी थी, शरीरकी कान्ति सुवर्णके समान थी, शरीरकी ऊँचाई एक सौ अस्सी हाथ थी। जब उनके कुमारकालके अढ़ाईलाख वर्ष बीत गये तब उन्हें राज्यका अभ्युदय प्राप्त हुआ था ।।२०२३ ॥ वे अत्यन्त ऊँचे थे, अत्यन्त शुद्ध थे, दर्शनीय थे, उत्तम आश्रय देने वाले थे, और सबका पोषण करनेवाले थे अतः शरऋतुके मेघके समान थे ॥२४॥ अथवा किसी उत्तम हाथीके समान थे क्योंकि जिस प्रकार उत्तम हाथी भद्र जातिका होता है उसी प्रकार वे भी भद्र प्रकृति थे, उत्तम हाथी जिस प्रकार बहु दान-बहुत मदसे युक्त होता है उसी प्रकार वे भी बहु दान-बहुत दानसे युक्त थे, उत्तम हाथी जिस प्रकार सुलक्षण-अच्छे-अच्छे लक्षणोंसे सहित होता है उसी प्रकार वे भी सुलक्षण-अच्छे सामुद्रिक चिह्नोंसे सहित थे, उत्तम हाथी जिस प्रकार महान होता है उसी प्रकार वे भी महान्-श्रेष्ठ थे, उत्तम हाथी जिस प्रकार सुकर-उत्तम सूंडसे सहित होता है उसी प्रकार वे भी सुकर-उत्तम हाथोंसे सहित थे, और उत्तम हाथी जिस प्रकार सुरेभ-उत्तम शब्दसे सहित होता है उसी प्रकार वे भी सुरेभ-उत्तम-मधुर शब्दोंसे सहित थे।॥ २५ ॥ वे दुर्जनोंका निग्रह और सजनोंका अनुग्रह करते थे सो द्वेष अथवा इच्छाके वश नहीं करते थे किन्तु गुण और दोषकी
करते थे अतः निग्रह करते हुए भी वे प्रजाके पूज्य थे॥ २६ ॥ उनकी समस्त संसारमें फैलनेवाली कीर्ति यदि लता नहीं थी तो वह कवियोंके प्रवचनरूपी जलके सेकसे आज भी क्यों बढ़ रही है ।। २७ ।। सुखसे संभोग करनेके योग्य तथा अपने गुणोंसे अनुरक्त पृथिवी उनके लिए उत्तम

The Indras came together and performed the ceremony of Garbha Kalyāṇaka. || 17 || After nine months, on the thirteenth day of the waxing moon in the month of Magha, in the Guru Yoga, she gave birth to the knower of the future, the one with eyes like lotus petals. || 18 || At that time, the Lord of the gods, taking him to the Mount Meru, anointed him with the water of the ocean of milk, filled in large golden pots, adorned him with ornaments, and named him Dharma, with great joy. || 19 || In the lineage of Ananta Jin, after the passage of time equivalent to four oceans, when half of the final pralaya had passed, and the world was devoid of Dharma, Dharma Nath was born. His lifespan was also within this interval. His lifespan was ten lakh years, his body had the radiance of gold, and his height was one hundred and eighty hands. When two and a half lakh years of his childhood had passed, he attained the kingdom. || 20-23 || He was very tall, very pure, beautiful to behold, a great refuge, and the nourisher of all beings, therefore, he was like the cloud of the rainy season. || 24 || Or, he was like a great elephant, because just as a great elephant is of a noble lineage, so was he of a noble nature. Just as a great elephant is endowed with great generosity and pride, so was he endowed with great generosity and pride. Just as a great elephant is endowed with good features and auspicious signs, so was he endowed with good features and auspicious signs. Just as a great elephant is great, so was he great and superior. Just as a great elephant has a good trunk, so did he have good hands. And just as a great elephant has a good voice, so did he have a good, sweet voice. || 25 || He punished the wicked and protected the righteous, not out of hatred or desire, but because of the nature of their actions. Therefore, even when he punished, he was revered by the people. || 26 || If his fame, which spread throughout the world, was not a creeper, then why is it still growing today, nourished by the rain of the words of the poets? || 27 || The earth, adorned with his virtues, was fit for enjoyment and pleasure for him. She was like a beloved wife, fulfilling all his desires and bringing him desired results. || 28 ||
