The kings, like lions, perched atop the peaks of the renowned elephant-mountains, fought each other. 222
Two elephants, their tusks broken by each other, stood for a long time, like two mountains, supporting each other. 223
The elephant-kings, covered in arrows from all sides, were adorned like moving mountains, filled with small bamboo shoots. 224
The generous, the proud, the strong, the lustful, the Yama-like, the great, the compassionate, the elephants, how could they not fight? 225
Like deer fleeing in fear, the elephants of the deer-kind were defeated at the outset and fled in fear, scattering their own army. Alas for the bulk of the fearful! 226

Therefore, the Acharya says, alas for the lack of essential resources! 227
Their bodies were torn apart by weapons, their eyes closed, they had completely abandoned their desire for battle, they had shown their prowess, they had tied their palanquin seats with their minds, and they had abandoned all possessions. How many such warriors were fighting? 228
Jayakumar was about to stop them. 229
Just as a fire, fueled by abundant fuel and wind, blazes brightly, so too, Jayakumar, fueled by the wind of enthusiasm, was blazing brightly, having encountered the enemy after a long time. 221
At that time, many kings, like lions, perched atop the peaks of the renowned elephant-mountains, began to fight each other. 222
In that battle, two elephants, their tusks broken by each other, stood for a long time, like two mountains, supporting each other. 223
