Mahapuraanam
The liberation of a great soul who has renounced the body and food in the presence of the Guru is dependent on conquering the Pariṣahas. ||126|| Therefore, a wise person should contemplate on the Anuprekṣās to conquer the Pariṣahas, because attaining peace of mind without contemplating on the Anuprekṣās is difficult. ||127|| "I contemplate on the Right Faith, etc., and not on the Wrong Faith, etc. I contemplate on the essence of the truth with the feeling that I am contemplating." ||128|| One should renounce the non-self, such as the body and possessions, and embrace the self, the three jewels, which are supreme. ||129|| A wise and courageous person should contemplate in such a way that the mind's restlessness is destroyed, and at the end of life, while remembering the five Supreme Beings, he should give up his life. ||130|| Such a person, who is devoted to contemplation and has conquered his breath, attains a good destiny by loosening his karmas. ||131|| A capable person attains liberation in the same existence by destroying his karmas, while an incapable person attains the highest heaven, the abode of all fulfillment. ||132|| From there, he falls down and attains the human existence, performs the highest penance, and at the end of his life, destroys all karmic bonds and attains liberation. ||133|| A Kshatriya who does not know his true self and does not protect his soul will surely die an untimely death due to poison, weapons, etc. ||134|| And the one who dies an untimely death falls into the cycle of birth and death, which is full of suffering and difficult to cross, and becomes a recipient of suffering in the next life. ||135|| Therefore, a wise Kshatriya should make great efforts to protect the soul from these obstacles, which are beneficial to both worlds. ||136|| In this way, a king who has protected his soul should strive to protect his subjects, for this is the fundamental quality of kings. ||137||
