**Chapter 38: **
**Non-attachment to worldly objects, constant study of scriptures, and various types of fasts are the characteristics of a peaceful life.** (146)
**This is the 21st practice of peace.**
**Then, considering himself fulfilled in the householder's life, when he is ready to renounce his home, this is the procedure for his renunciation.** (150)
**He should first worship the Siddhas, invite all his loved ones, and in their presence, entrust everything to his son and then renounce his home.** (151)
**While renouncing his home, he should call his eldest son and say to him, "Son, this lineage is to be maintained by you. I have divided my wealth into three parts. You should use it in this way: one part for religious activities, the second for your household expenses, and the third for distribution among your siblings. The daughters should also receive an equal share, just like the sons. You, being the eldest, should take care of our entire family. You are knowledgeable in scriptures, conduct, rituals, mantras, and rules. Therefore, without laziness, worship the Gods and the Guru, and maintain the family tradition."** (152-155)
**After instructing his eldest son in this way, the renunciant, free from worries, should leave his home to receive initiation.** (156)
**This is the 22nd practice of renunciation.**
**The conduct of a renunciant who has left his home, who is a true seer, peaceful, and the master of householders, and who has worn a single garment before receiving initiation, is called the "pre-initiation practices" of a renunciant.** (157-158)
**This is the 23rd practice of pre-initiation.**
**The act of a Jain who has renounced all possessions and desires to receive initiation, and who adopts the Digambara form, is called the practice of "Jin-form".** (159)
