भरतेशः किलात्रापि न यदाप जयं तदा। बलैर्भुजबलीशस्य भूयोऽप्युद्योषितो जयः ॥५६॥ निय द्धमथ' सङगोर्य न सिंहौ सिंहविक्रमी । धारावाविष्कृतस्पद्धौ तौ रङगमवतेरतुः ॥५७॥ 'वल्गितास्फोटितश्चित्रः करणबन्ध पीलितः। दोर्दर्पशालिनोरासीद् बाहयुद्धं तयोर्महत् ॥५८) ज्वलन्मकटभाचको हेलयोझामितोऽमुना । लीलामलातचक्रस्य' चक्री भेजे क्षणं भूमन् ॥५६॥ यवोयान्न पशार्दुलं ज्यायांसं जितभारतम् । जित्वाऽपि नानयद् भूमि प्रभुरित्येव गौरवात् ॥६०॥
भुजोपरोधमुद्धत्य स तं धत्ते स्म दोर्बली । हिमाद्रिमिव नीलाद्रिः महाकटकभास्वरम् ॥६॥ (तदा कलकलश्च पक्ष्यैर्भुजबली शिवः । नृपैर्भरतगृहयैस्तु लज्जया नमितं शिरः ॥६२॥ समक्षमीक्षमाणेषु पाथिवेषभयेष्वपि । परां विमानतां प्राप्य ययौ चक्री विलक्षताम् ॥६३॥ बद्ध कटिरुझान्तरुधिरारुणलोचनः । क्षणं दुरीक्षता भेजे चक्री प्रज्वलितः धा ॥६४॥ क्रोधान्धेन तदा दध्ये कर्तुमस्य पराजयम् । चक्रमत्कृत्तनिःशेषद्विषच्चकं निधीशिना ॥६५॥ "प्राध्यानमात्रमेत्याराद् अद:" कृत्वा प्रदक्षिणाम् । अवध्यस्यास्य पर्यन्तं तस्थौ मन्दीकृतातपम् ॥६६॥
धनुष । इसलिये बाहुबलीके द्वारा छोड़ा हुआ पानी भरतके मुख तथा वक्षःस्थलपर पड़ता था परन्तु भरतके द्वारा छोड़ा हुआ पानी बीच में ही रह जाता था-बाहुबलीके मुखतक नहीं पहुँच पाता था ।।५५।। इस प्रकार जब भरतेश्वरने इस जलयुद्धमें भी विजय प्राप्त नहीं की तब वाहबलीकी सेनाओंने फिरसे अपनी विजयकी घोषणा कर दी ॥५६॥ अथानन्तर सिंहके समान पराक्रमको धारण करनेवाले धीरवीर तथा परस्पर स्पर्धा करनेवाले वे दोनों नरशार्दूल-श्रेष्ठ पुरुष बाहुयुद्धकी प्रतिज्ञा कर रंगभूमिमें आ उतरे ॥५७॥ अपनी अपनी भुजाओंके अहंकारसे सुशोभित उन दोनों भाइयोंका, अनेक प्रकारसे हाथ हिलाने, ताल ठोकने, पैतरा बदलने और भुजाओंके व्यायाम आदिसे बड़ा भारी बाहु युद्ध (मल्ल युद्ध) हुआ ॥५८।। जिसके मुकुटको दीप्तिका समुह अतिशय देदीप्यमान हो रहा है ऐसे भरतको बाहुबलीने लीला मात्रमें ही घुमा दिया और उस समय घूमते हुए चक्रवर्तीने क्षण भरके लिये अलातचक्रकी लीला धारण की थी ॥५९।। बाहुबलीने राजाओंमें श्रेष्ठ, बड़े तथा भरत क्षेत्रको जीतनेवाले भरतको जीतकर भी थे बड़े हैं' इसी गौरवसे उन्हें पृथिवीपर नहीं पटका ।।।।६०॥ किन्तु भुजाओंसे पकड़कर ऊंचा उठाकर कन्धपर धारण कर लिया। उस समय भरतेश्वरको कन्धेपर धारण करते हुए बाहुबली ऐसे जान पड़ते थे मानो नील गिरिने बड़े बड़े शिखरोंसे देदीप्यमान ि पर्वतको ही धारण कर रक्खा हो ॥६१।। उस समय बाहुबलीके पक्षवाले राजाओंने बड़ा कोलाहल मचाया और भरतके पक्षके लोगोंने लज्जासे अपना शिर झुका लिया ॥६२। दोनों पक्षके राजाओंके साक्षात् देखते हुए चक्रवर्ती भरतका अत्यन्त अपमान हुआ था इसलिये वे भारी लज्जा और आश्चर्यको प्राप्त हए ।।६३॥ जिसने भौंह चढ़ा ली हैं, जिसकी रक्तके समान लाल लाल आंखें इधर उधर फिर रही हैं और जो क्रोधसे जल रहा है ऐसा वह चक्रवर्ती क्षण भरके लिये भी निरीक्ष्य हो गया अर्थात वह कोधसे ऐसा जलने लगा कि उसे कोई क्षणभर नहीं देख सकता था ।।६४॥ उस समय क्रोधसे अन्धे हुए निधियोंके स्वामी भरतने बाहुबलीका पराजय करने के लिये समस्त शत्रुओंके समूहको उखाड़कर फेंकनेवाले चक्ररत्नका स्मरण किया ॥६५॥ स्मरण करते ही वह चक्ररत्न भरतके समीप आया, भरतने बाहुबलीपर चलाया

The great duel between the two brothers, who were proud of their arms, was marked by various movements of the arms, striking of the palms, changing of positions, and exercises of the arms. ||58||

Bhujabali, whose crown was adorned with a cluster of brilliant gems, playfully turned Bharata around, and at that moment, the emperor, while turning, assumed the posture of the Alaatchakra. ||59||
