As soon as the Swayamvara ended, a fierce battle ensued between Chakravarti Bharat's son, Prakirti, and Jayakumar. Jayakumar emerged victorious in the battle. The war ended due to the farsightedness of Prakampan and Bharat, and their differences were resolved. Panchchavvarinshattam Parva
Kampan praised his daughter's intelligence and satisfaction, and appeased Arkkirti by praising him. He also sent a messenger to Chakravarti Bharat to apologize for his actions. In response, Chakravarti praised both Prakampan and Jayakumar.

When Jayakumar expressed his desire to return to his city, he was bid farewell with great pomp and splendor. On his way, Jayakumar went to meet Chakravarti Bharat. Bharat received him with great honor. While returning from Ayodhya, Jayakumar was traveling towards his camp along the Ganges when a goddess, disguised as a crocodile, swallowed his elephant. As a result, Jayakumar and his elephant began to sink into the Ganges. Sulochana, through the worship of the Panchanamaskar mantra, averted this calamity.

Jayakumar entered Hastinapur with great fanfare. The women of the city were mesmerized by the sight of Sulochana and Jayakumar. In the presence of Hemadati and others, Jayakumar bestowed the crown of the queen upon Sulochana. 432-440

Meanwhile, for some reason, Sulochana's father became disillusioned with the world. He contemplated the nature of detachment and intensified his renunciation. He, along with Queen Suprabha, took initiation and attained Nirvana. Suprabha was born in heaven as per her karma.

Panchchavvarinshattam Parva
One day, Jayakumar was sitting on the roof of his house with his beloved Sulochana when his gaze fell upon a Vidhyadhara couple passing by in the sky. As soon as he saw them, he exclaimed, "Oh, my Prabhavati!" and fainted. Sulochana, too, fainted, crying out, "Oh, my beloved!" After being revived, Jayakumar asked Sulochana the reason for her fainting. She then began to narrate the story of their previous birth. A detailed account of their past lives is given. 446-479
