Once when Bhadrayadas along with Hemaratha and other monks came to Rathamardana, Rsidatta asked him as to the cause due to which she got accused as a Rakṣast and underwent mortal sufferring Bhadrayeśas told her that during one of her previous births, she had reviled the monks as feeding on carcass, and in the next birth thereafter she had practised as a nun severe austerities with some deceit. So she had to suffer the consequences of her past deeds. Thereafter Ṛsidatta and Karakaratha renounced the world. In their wanderings they reached Bhadrilapura, where they att ained Keval-jñāna

Being asked by Bharadvaja, the monks revealed that the terrible ghost which earstwhile appeared in the hermitage and whose. chopped off by V. was Vayuratha in disguise. Thereafter the monks left the Kancana-guba.
Receiving news about V. 's fight with a ghost, Hemadamstra along with his mother paid a visit to the hermitage. To counteract the constant danger of attack and abduction from the hostile Vidyadharas, Hemadamstra advised V. to acquire Maharohini Vidya. Bharadvaja volunteered to help in this matter. Accordingly, under the guidance of Bharadvaja's disciple Satya, V., purified by prescribed rites, mounted a huge wooden pyre which was set on fire, and started repeating the prescribed protective speIls. The terrific fire raging all around did not harm V. At night, eight Vidyadharas appeard there. They showered burning wood-blocks on V. Then they lifted V. and carried him to a mountain peak. They bound him tightly. All the while V. believed these to be disturbances normally visiting an aspirant to the Maharchint Vidya Then the Vidyadharas took V. to a Vidyadhara city that was flood-lit with gems. At that juncture V. realized that it was not his steadfastness that was being tested, but it was a well-planned abduction by his enemy Väyurat a. V. was taken to a huge building and deposited on the floor of a room. Soon his captors received orders to keep a careful watch on their captive for the night. (pp. 151)
In the morning V. was taken to Vayuratha. On the way V. accidentally got a glimpse of Vayuratha's a glimpse of Vayuratha's beautiful sister Anilayasa who seemed to look at him wistfully. Vayuratha ordered that V. was to be offered next day as a sacrificial victim to goddess Sañkukä, and till then he was to be confined in an adamatine pit in underground cell that was surrounded by flames produced through Vidya and encircled by armed
