ગુરુદેવનું જીવન ચરિત્ર
મન હવે સંયમ માટે થનગનતું હતું. સ્વજન-પરિવારની રજા માંગી. સમજવા કોઈ તૈયાર ન હતું. ખૂબ વિરોધ ઊઠ્યો. ગગલભાઈએ પણ વિરોધને ખાળવા ઉગ્રતર તપ, ત્યાગ અને અભિગ્રહો કરવા માંડ્યો. ૧૨-૧૨ વર્ષ સુધી મૂળથી ઘીનો ત્યાગ કર્યો. વર્ધમાન તપની ઓળીનો પાયો નાંખ્યો. ઉપરા ઉપરી ઓળીઓ કરવા લાગ્યા. માત્ર એક-બે દ્રવ્યની ઓળીઓ કરી. પારણે છઠ્ઠ અને એના પારણે ભાત-પાણી કે રોટલી-પાણીના આયંબિલો. વર્ષો સુધી આ ક્રમ ચાલ્યો. છ વિગઈઓ સદંતર મૂળથી બંધ કરી. એને ય ૬-૬ વર્ષો વીત્યાં. સ્વજનોએ દાદ ન આપી.
હવે અંતિમ તૈયારી રૂપે પુત્રને સ્કૂલ છોડાવી. ગુરુદેવ પાસે વિહારમાં મૂક્યો. ધંધાની જવાબદારી પોતાના પિતરાઈ ભાઈ-ભત્રીજાને સોંપી અને વિ.સં. ૨૦૨૩ની સાલમાં પોષ મહિને એ અમદાવાદથી ભાગી નીકળ્યા.
અનેક કલ્યાણ મિત્રોનો સાથ-સહકાર મળ્યો. મુંબઈ-મુરબાડ આવ્યા. પૂ. ગુરુદેવ વિહાર કરીને ત્યાં આવી ચૂક્યા હતા. પુત્ર કાંતિને તો પહેલેથી જ ત્યાં મોકલી આપ્યો હતો. પાંચ દિવસનો મંગલ મહોત્સવ થયો. કલ્યાણ મિત્ર પરિવારોએ સ્વજનોનો રોલ એવો ભજવ્યો કે પ્રાય: કોઈને ખ્યાલ ન આવ્યો કે આ ગુપ્ત દીક્ષા છે. પો.સુ. ૧૩ના પૂ. ગુરુદેવની દીક્ષાતિથિ ઉજવાઈ અને પો.સુ. ૧૪ના એ જ ગુરુદેવે પિતાપુત્રને દીક્ષાનાં દાન કર્યા. પોતાના શિષ્ય-પ્રશિષ્યરૂપે પૂ.મુ. શ્રી ગુણયશવિજયજી મહારાજ અને પૂ.મુ. શ્રી કીર્તિયશવિજયજી મહારાજ નામ રખાયાં. હિતશિક્ષા આપી. આપેલા નામોનો પરમાર્થ સમજાવ્યો. બંને પિતા-પુત્ર ગુરુ-શિષ્ય મુનિવરે ગુરુશીખને નખશીખ અવતારવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો.
હવે બંને પૂ. ગુરુદેવની સેવામાં જોડાઈ ગયા. પરિવારનો મોટો વિરોધ ગુરુ પ્રભાવે વિલાઈ ગયો. રાજીખુશીથી ભૂલેશ્વર લાલબાગ, મુંબઈ ખાતે વડી દીક્ષા થઈ. પિતામુનિ સવિશેષ તપમાં અને પુત્રમુનિ અધ્યયનમાં લાગી ગયાં. બંનેએ સ્વ-સ્વ ક્ષેત્રે કાઠું કાઢ્યું.
પૂ.મુ. શ્રી ગુણયશવિજયજી મહારાજે જે રીતે પુત્ર મુનિનું બાળપણથી સંસ્કરણ કરેલું એ પૂ. ગુરુદેવથી છાનું ન હતું. તે કળા જોઈ એમણે પોતાની પાસે જાણવા-રહેવા આવતા મુમુક્ષુઓને તેમને સોંપવા માંડ્યા. માત્ર એક જ વર્ષના પર્યાયમાં આ જવાબદારી મળી, જે તેમણે સાંગોપાંગ નીભાવી ગુરુનો વિશ્વાસ સાર્થક કર્યો. પૂ. ગુરુદેવ ખૂબ સંતૃપ્ત થયા. આ જ રીતે પ્રારંભિક વર્ષોમાં પૂ. ગુરુદેવની અત્યંતર માંડલીમાં રહી એઓશ્રીની તમામ સેવા-વૈયાવચ્ચ આદિનો ભાર પિતામુનિશ્રીના વૃષભ સ્કંધો પર મૂકાયો. એ પણ એમણે સાંગોપાંગ પાર પાડ્યો. વૈયાવચ્ચ સહેલી નથી. એમાં ય આવા ટોચની કક્ષાના ગુરુદેવની વૈયાવચ્ચ કરવી હોય તો તન-મનની ઘણી સજ્જતા જોઈએ. પૂ. મુનિશ્રીએ એ સજ્જતા કેળવી અને પૂ. ગુરુદેવને તેમજ ગચ્છને અપાર સંતોષ આપ્યો. આ ગુણના કારણે એમનો ઝડપી આત્મવિકાસ થયો. તપ-જપમાં તો અગ્રિમ હતા. હવે આધ્યાત્મિક પરિણતિઓ,
