जयघोष का तत्त्वज्ञान

गंगा-स्नान करते हुये जयघोष ने देखा - मेंढक को सर्प और सर्प को कुरर पक्षी निगल रहा है। यह दृश्य देखकर जयघोष को वैराग्य हो गया और वे मुनि बन गये (पूर्वलोक) । भिक्षार्थ भ्रमण करते हुये विजयघोष के यज्ञ मण्डप में पहुँचने पर तत्त्व बताते हुये जयघोष मुनि ने कहा- कोई सिर मुंडाने मात्र से श्रमण, ॐकार जपने मात्र से ब्राह्मण और कुश - चीवर धारण करने मात्र से तापस नहीं होता ।

FUNDAMENTALS
Bathing in the Ganges Jayaghosh saw that a serpent is swallowing a frog and a Kurar bird is swallowing that serpent. Jayaghosh got detached and became a sage. Wandering to seek alms, when he came to the Yajna pavilion of Vijayaghosh he explained the fundamentals in these words Just by tonsuring one does not become a sage. Just by chanting the syllable Om one does not become a Brahmin. And just by wearing Kush-grass one does not become a hermit.
