चठविंसइमं अज्झयणं : पवयण-माया चतुर्विंश अध्ययन : प्रवचन-माता ___Chapter-24 : MOTHER SERMON
अट्ठ पवयणमायाओ, समिई गुत्ती तहेव य।
पंचेव य समिईओ, तओ गुत्तीओ आहिया॥१॥ समिति और गुप्ति-मिलकर आठ प्रवचन-माताएँ हैं। समितियाँ पाँच हैं और गुप्तियाँ तीन हैं॥ १॥
There are eight pravachana-maatas (mothers of sermon) that include samitis (circumspections) and guptis (restraints). There are five circumspections and three restraints. (1)
इरियाभासेसणादाणे, उच्चारे समिई इय।
मणगुत्ती वयगुत्ती, कायगुत्ती य अट्ठमा॥२॥ ईर्या समिति, भाषा समिति, एषणा समिति, आदान-निक्षेपणा समिति और उच्चार-प्रस्रवण (परिष्ठापनिका)-ये पाँच समिति तथा मनोगुप्ति, वचनगुप्ति और आठवीं कायगुप्ति है॥ २॥
Five circumspections - that in movement (irya samiti), that in speech (bhasha samiti), that in exploring alms (eshana samiti), that in taking and keeping (aadaan-nikshepana samiti) and that in disposal (parishthapanika samiti) along with three restraints-mental restraint (manogupti), vocal restraint (vachangupti) and physical restraint (kayagupti) make these eight. (2)
एयाओ अट्ठ समिईओ, समासेण वियाहिया।
दुवालसंगं जिणक्खायं, मायं जत्थ उ पवयणं॥३॥ संक्षेप में ये आठ समितियाँ कही गई हैं। इनमें जिनेन्द्र-कथित द्वादशांग रूप समग्र प्रवचन समाहित हो जाता है॥३॥
These are also called eight circumspections. They envelope the whole sermon given by the Jina in the form of the corpus of twelve Angas. (3) १-ईर्या समिति
आलम्बणेण कालेण, मग्गेण जयणाइ य। चउकारणपरिसुद्धं, संजए इरियं रिए॥४॥ तत्थ आलंबणं नाणं, दंसणं चरणं तहा। काले य दिवसे वुत्ते, मग्गे उप्पहवज्जिए॥५॥
