मुनि की आत्मकथा ___ मुनि ने अपनी आत्मकथा सुनाई-मैं कोशाम्बी के ईभ्य सेठ का पुत्र हूँ। एक बार मेरी आँखों में तीव्र वेदना हुई, परन्तु पानी की तरह धन बहाने एवं अनेक उपचार करने पर भी पीड़ा शान्त नहीं हुई। तब आत्म-चिन्तन करते हुये मैंने संकल्प किया यदि मैं इस वेदना से मुक्त हो जाऊँ, तो संसार त्यागकर श्रमण बन जाऊँगा। मेरी वेदना शान्त हो गई और मैंने घर-परिवार का त्याग कर दिया।

THE STORY OF THE ASCETIC

The ascetic narrated his life-story - I am the son of a rich merchant of Kaushambi city. Once I had severe eye-pain. In spite of all possible treatment and spending enormous wealth I got no relief. Then after much pondering I resolved - If I get relieved of this agony I will renounce the world and become a homeless ascetic. My pain disappeared and I renounced my home and family.
