राजा संजय काम्पिल्य नगर का राजा संजय अपने दल-बल के साथ शिकार करने निकला। भयत्रस्त हिरणों के पीछे दौड़ता हुआ राजा केशर उद्यान के लता-मण्डप में पहुँच गया। वहाँ एक ध्यानस्थ मुनि के पास घायल हिरणों को देखकर राजा भयभीत हो उठा; हो न हो; ये हिरण मुनि के ही हैं। अज्ञान में हुये अपराध के लिये राजा मुनि से क्षमा याचना करने लगा।

KING SANJAYA King Sanjaya of Kampilya Nagar went out for hunting with his guards. Chasing frightened deer, the king arrived at creeper pavilion in the Keshar garden. Seeing the wounded deer near a meditating ascetic, the king was filled with fear. Most probably, these deer belong to this ascetic. The king sought forgiveness for the crime committed out of ignorance.
