Chapter-16: CONDITIONS OF PERFECT CELIBACY
सूत्र १ - सुयं मे आउ ! तेणं भगवया एवमक्खायं
इह खलु थेरेहिं भगवन्तेहिं दस बम्भचेरसमाहिठाणा पन्नत्ता, जे भिक्खू सोच्चा, निसम्म, संजमबहुले, संवरबहुले, समाहिबहुले, गुत्ते, गुत्तिन्दिए, गुत्तबम्भयारी सया अप्पमत्ते विहरेज्जा । सूत्र १ - ( सुधर्मा स्वामी - ) हे आयुष्मन् ! मैंने सुना है कि उन भगवान ने ऐसा कहा है
इस निर्ग्रन्थ प्रवचन में स्थविर भगवन्तों ने दस ब्रह्मचर्य समाधि के स्थान बताये हैं, जिन्हें सुनकर तथा जिनके अर्थ को समझकर भिक्षु संयम में, संवर में और समाधि में अधिकाधिक संपन्न होकर मन-वचन-काया का गोपन करे, इन्द्रियों को नियन्त्रित करे और गुप्त ब्रह्मचारी बनकर सदा अप्रमत्त होकर विचरण करे।
Maxim 1-(Sudharma Swami-) O long-lived one! I have heard that Bhagavan said so
"The revered senior accomplished sages have, in their sermon, mentioned ten conditions for realization of brahmacharya (perfect celibacy), by hearing and understanding the meaning of which an ascetic should become more and more accomplished in restrain, in obstructing karmic inflow and meditation. Consequently he should practice mental, vocal and physical restraint, control the senses and become a perfect celibate to move about free of stupor (ever alert).
सूत्र २ - करे खलु ते थेरेहिं भगवन्तेहिं दस बम्भचेरसमाहिठाणा पन्नत्ता जे भिक्खू सोच्चा, निसम्म, संजमबहुले, संवरबहुले, समाहिबहुले, गुत्ते, गुत्तिन्दिए, गुत्तबंभयारी सया अप्पमत्ते विहरेज्जा ।
सूत्र २ - ( जम्बूस्वामी - ) हे भगवन् ! स्थविर भगवन्तों ने ब्रह्मचर्य समाधि के वे कौन से दस स्थान बताये हैं, जिन्हें सुनकर, जिनका अर्थ निश्चय कर भिक्षु संयम, संवर और समाधि का बार - बार अभ्यास करे, मन-वचन-काया का गोपन करे, इन्द्रियों को उनके विषयों में जाने से रोके, ब्रह्मचर्य को सुरक्षित रखे और अप्रमत्त होकर विचरण करे ।
