प्रव्रज्या के लिये प्रस्तुत हुये नमि राजर्षि के सामने ब्राह्मण वेषधारी देवेन्द्र ने प्रश्न किया -आज मिथिला नगरी में हृदय विदारक कोलाहल क्यों सुनाई दे रहा है ? नमि राजर्षि उत्तर देते हैं—एक विशाल चैत्य वृक्ष के ढह जाने से आश्रयहीन हुये पक्षी क्रन्दन कर रहे हैं; उसी का यह कोलाहल है।

CRY OF THE SHELTER-LESS
The king of gods in the guise of a Brahmin asked the king Nami, who was about to get initiated,-why there is heart rending uproar in Mithila city today? Sage Nami replied – A huge tree has fallen down, so the unsheltered birds are crying; that is why this uproar.
