छट्ठमज्झयणं : खुड्डागनियंठिज्जं
षष्टम अध्ययन : क्षुल्लक निर्ग्रन्थीय | Chapter-6 : NEWLY INITIATED ASCETIC
जावन्तऽविज्जापुरिसा, सव्वे ते दुक्खसंभवा।
लुप्पन्ति बहुसो मूढा, संसारंमि अणन्तए॥१॥ जितने भी अविद्यावान् पुरुष (अज्ञानी-मिथ्यात्वी पुरुष) हैं, वे सभी दुःख को उत्पन्न करते हैं। वे मूढ़ अनंत संसार में बार-बार लुप्त होते हैं, डूब जाते हैं॥ १॥
All the uneducated (ignorant or unrighteous) persons are creators of misery. Those fools keep on disappearing (taking rebirths and dying) in the unending cycles of rebirth. (1)
समिक्ख पंडिए तम्हा, पास जाईपहे बहू।
अप्पणा सच्चमेसेज्जा, मेत्तिं भूएसु कप्पए॥२॥ इसलिए पण्डित-ज्ञानी पुरुष जीवयोनियों में उत्पन्न होने के मार्गों (स्त्री-पुत्र-धन आदि के प्रति मोह) को पाश-प्रबल बंधन जाने, सत्य का स्वयं अन्वेषण करे और सभी जीवों के प्रति मित्रता का आचरण करे, मैत्रीभाव रखे॥२॥
Hence a sagacious person should consider the pathways to rebirth (fondness for wife, sons, wealth etc.) to be snares or strong bonds, explore the truth himself and let his conduct be guided by the feeling of universal fraternity for all beings. (2)
माया पिया पहुसा भाया, भज्जा पुत्ता य ओरसा।
नालं ते मम ताणाय, लुप्पन्तस्स सकम्मुणा॥३॥ माता-पिता, पुत्रवधू, भाई, पत्नी और अपने आत्मजात (औरस) पुत्र भी, स्वयंकृत कर्मों के भार से लुप्त होते (संसार-समुद्र में डूबते) और सभी प्रकार के कष्टों से त्राण दिलाने-रक्षा करने में समर्थ नहीं हैं ॥ ३॥
Parents, daughters-in-law, brother, wife and one's own son, none of these is capable of providing relief from the load of karmas that causes drowning in the ocean of mundane existence entailing calamities of all kinds. (3)
एयमलै सपेहाए, पासे समियदंसणे।
छिन्द गेहिं सिणेहं च, न कसे पुव्यसंथवं॥४॥ इस अर्थ (सत्य) की समीक्षा करके सम्यग्दृष्टि पुरुष मन में यह धारणा निश्चित कर ले तथा आसक्ति और स्नेह के बंधन को तोड़कर पूर्व परिचितों से संसर्ग की इच्छा भी न करे॥ ४॥
Analyzing this, the righteous person should take this truth to heart and should severe the bonds of infatuation and love to the extant of not even thinking of getting in touch with former acquaintances. (4)
