greater power; those with greater power can pass through those with 5 lesser power by entrancing before or after the act or even without entrancing; those with equal power can pass through others only after entrancing them or when they are in stupor.
The meaning of entrancing in this context is to astonish as if by creating darkness by smoke or other means and to pass through the other god when he is taken aback by the darkness and in stupor momentarily. १०. [प्र.] अप्पिड्ढीए णं भंते ! देवे महड्डियाए देवीए मज्झंमज्झेणं वीइवएज्जा? _ [उ.] नो इणठे समठे।
१०. [प्र.] भगवन्! क्या अल्प-ऋद्धिक देव, महर्द्धिक-देवी के मध्य में होकर जा सकता है?
[उ.] गौतम! यह अर्थ समर्थ नहीं है।
10. [Q.] Bhante ! Can a god with lesser power pass through a goddess with greater power ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! This is statement is not correct. ११. [प्र.] समिड्ढीए णं भंते ! देवे समड्डियाए देवीए मज्झमज्झेणं०? [उ.] एवं तहेव देवेण य देवीए य दंडओ भाणियव्वो, जाव वेमाणियाए। ११. [प्र.] भगवन्! क्या समर्द्धिक देव, समर्द्धिक देवी के बीचोंबीच होकर जा सकता है? [उ.] पूर्वोक्त प्रकार से देव के साथ देवी का भी दण्डक यावत् वैमानिक-पर्यन्त कहना चाहिए।
11. [Q.] Bhante ! Can a god with equal power pass through a goddess with same power ?
[Ans.] For this aforesaid statements should be repeated for all classes of gods with goddesses up to Vaimanik gods and goddesses.
१२-१. [प्र.] अप्पड्ढिया णं भंते ! देवी महड्डियस्स देवस्स मज्झंमज्झेणं०? [उ.] एवं एसो वि तईओ दंडओ भाणियव्वो जाव। १२-२. [प्र. ] महड्डिया वेमाणिणी अप्पड्डियस्स वेमाणियस्स मज्झमझेणं वीइवएज्जा? [उ.] हंता, वीइवएज्जा।
